Solid win, shows progress

All wins are meaningful one way or another.
That is so. Maybe everything is "meaningful." Certainly the possibility that nothing is meaningful occurs to one from time to time. In any case, it is certainly possible to mistake the meaning of any win, or loss, or of anything else for that matter. That's why we have chat spaces, I suppose, and moderators.

It appears you support the focus being on next year's team before any concerns for this year's team. I understand how that could be an attractive option, but it doesn't seem fair to the current team and the fans. If my team gives maximum effort but loses to a superior team, I can accept that. I could never accept an approach that doesn't maximize and attempt to improve the capabilities of the current team. This organization did that by starting Jacoby Brissett. I don't think Jerod Mayo could continue to support that, and said, we're playing Maye. The team has been exciting and promising with Maye. There was little hope with Brissett. Last week he was better because he stepped back and threw quickly on the first read. I don't believe he can sustain that.
I understand everything you say. It us just my nature to take the long view, maybe because I am a cranky old son of a *****, though I suppose there are other sorts of cranky old sons of *****es desperate for hope in the nearer term, since it might seem to them that the appearance of the Grim Reaper might antedate the Pats' next appearance of the Pats in the playoffs, given dismal progress in the "rebuild" to date. LOL. Oh well. We all take different paths through this Vale of Tears, and find our way to the same exit.

Close to facing the Reaper myself, that's a reason to enjoy EVERY game.

I get that. If I am in the wrong, it won't be the first time nor, barring that cardiac apocalypse the medicos keep warning me about, my last.

Also you never know when a bad team might take off. Our OL looks like it's solidifying, no new injuries the past 2 games plus guys coming back. Our QB can make all the throws and all the plays. Our D played a strong game for the first time in a month. The WR's couldn't have been worse but I think they'll rebound. We absolutely should've won at least 1 of the Seattle/Miami games, so we're more a .500 team than a cellar dweller, especially given all the OL injuries. The Tenn & Chi game will tell us where we are and I won't be shocked if we win both.

The point is we're less than halfway through the 1st season of the Wolf-Mayo regime and only 2 games into the Maye experience. It's too soon to be panning them. I hope they make some trade moves in the next week.

Two "Dislikes" and an "Ugh" for this. No love whatsoever. I'd never make a politician, apparently. I ran for Selectman once: lost by three votes. Highlight of my political career.
Consider yourself lucky to have escaped by such a slim margin. I won my race. Messed up my life for a few years, town didn’t care, nor change much.

It is indeed a trade off. Take the giddiness out of the discussion, this team needs to form as a cohesive unit in order for new talent to make an impact. The draft alone is not going to fill all of the gaps, even if the team trades down from the number 1 pick. To me there is more value building momentum with a win here or there than maximizing draft position. Bring in some mid roster FA's to fill out the roster and draft for the positions of need.
It would be more encouraging if thecFO had showed the ability to sign FAs, or to draft and develop WRs. In the absence of both it’s hard to see any good trade offs.

True, the team is SOL if the FO can't bring in talent. It doesn't matter if the team plays as a unit, pays a lot of money to FA, or what draft position. Talent trumps everything.
