Re: SMY: Kevin Faulk arrested for marijuana possession

I wonder what a first offense for Faulk gets on the conduct policy.. ???

Re: SMY: Kevin Faulk arrested for marijuana possession

He should have had one of his boyz carry it in

Thats what I was thinking too. Also, anyone who's *****ing about weed needs to get a grip. Something like 50% of adults have smoked marijuana. Its completely ridiculous that its even illegal.

What is it with people here that think they should decide how others live their lives? Maybe I should go ahead and make it my business what goes on in their life, i think ill stand in a certain moderators bedroom and tell him how he's allowed to screw his wife.

Re: Ugh Faulk Arrested (Yes Kevin)

Thank you.

You also shouldn't eat fast food while driving. That guy driving the vehicle could have just as easily been pre-occupied with licking the salt off his fingers, or applying some ketchup on his Big Mac.

With that logic, let's ban fast food. Let's ban cell phones. Let's ban drop down DVD players. These have all caused accidents while driving.

You know what we really need to rid of? Turkey. Read a story of some guy getting tired after having a large serving of it on Thanksgiving and got in a car accident doozing off at the wheel that night.

Also, grow up? You're the one calling other members "idiots" PATRIOTSFANINPA.

In the case of Eddie Griffin, this also means that porn should be criminalized.

http://nflpa.org/pdfs/RulesAndRegs/Drug_Policy_2007.pdf

II. Discipline for Violation of Law Related to Substances of Abuse Other Than Alcohol.

A. Additional Commissioner Discipline.
Apart from and in addition to any other provisions of this Policy, players convicted of or
admitting to a violation of law (including, within the context of a diversionary program,
deferred adjudication, disposition of supervision, or similar arrangement including but
not limited to nolo contendere) relating to use, possession, acquisition, sale, or
distribution of substances of abuse other than alcohol, or conspiring to do so, are subject
to appropriate discipline as determined by the Commissioner. Where appropriate, such
discipline may include substantially longer suspensions than those set forth below.

B. Discipline for Violations of the Law.
A player will normally be subject to discipline up to and including suspension without
pay for four regular and/or post-season games for a first violation of the law related to
substances of abuse other than alcohol and for six regular and/or post-season games for a
second violation of the law related to substances of abuse other than alcohol. A player’s
treatment history may be considered by the Commissioner in determining the appropriate
degree of discipline. The suspension period may be extended if medically necessary, and,
if extended, may involve mandatory treatment if required by the Medical Director.

Louisiana also carries a fine of $500 and up to 6 months in jail for a first offense conviction.

Re: SMY: Kevin Faulk arrested for marijuana possession

I've never used drugs, but if what happened to Faulk and his team happened to me I'd probably take up pot as well.

Re: SMY: Kevin Faulk arrested for marijuana possession

OK boys and girls, start playing nice with each other and stay on topic which is Kevin being arrested for having 4 joints on him.

Grass is a banned substance under the NFL substance abuse program. If this is his second offense, then he will be suspended for 4 games. All the moralizing pro and con of pot will not change that.

amen......anything to make you forget isnt that one of the side effects.

Re: Ugh Faulk Arrested (Yes Kevin)

Criminally insane??? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Post of the year!! Man CCD really put the fear of the almighty-one into you ha?

You're telling me anyone who tries to kill themselves is mentally stable?

Re: Ugh Faulk Arrested (Yes Kevin)

Get a clue.

The drug may not be as damaging as alcohol but take a look at the violence in Mexico form the Marijuana trade and tell the family of all of the murder victims Marijuana is a victimless crime.

I know your response will be well if it isn't illegal then the violence goes away, but if you legalize any activity the peripheral crimes disappear but that isn't a reason in and of itself to legalize anything.

Edit:
My apolgies if this probably belongs in the political forum

Ironically, if marijuana were legalized and regulated, this wouldn't be an issue. The United States' refusal to decriminalize and regulate the substance is as much to blame as the people who use it.

BTW, did you know that, in many countries, children are forced into work on tea, sugar cane, and tobacco plantations? By your logic, that makes you a terrible person if you use any of these substances.

Re: SMY: Kevin Faulk arrested for marijuana possession

"Everyone does it."

still don't get what your saying......would be suprising????

Re: SMY: Kevin Faulk arrested for marijuana possession

While I agree that smoking pot is a small offense, its still illegal. I'm disappointed in Kevin. Hes like a 10 year vet now and he knows better than that. If youre gonna smoke, at least have someone else carry the joints....cmon Kevin.

Re: Ugh Faulk Arrested (Yes Kevin)

You're telling me that anyone who isn't mentally stable is 'criminally insane'? Holy stereotypes, batman. I guess you've never dealt with people with mental illnesses before. As someone who has, I will tell you that most mentally troubled individuals, including many who attempt suicide at some point, are no more 'criminally insane' than you are. They tend to know right from wrong just as well as anyone else.

Re: Ugh Faulk Arrested (Yes Kevin)

No, that's not at all what I said. I said nothing. You said that they are "criminally insane." I take issue with that. There is a difference between insanity and severe depression/emotional problems.

EDIT: Anyhoo....

Re: SMY: Kevin Faulk arrested for marijuana possession

I bet 35 of the 52 smoke pot in the offseason. Thats a conservative estimate.

I'd put the number around 15-20 of the 80-man offseason roster, with most being UDFAs and other young players.

You'd have a hard time convincing me guys like Colvin, Brady, Wilfork, Warren, Watson, Welker, the OL, Seau, Kyle Brady, Bruschi, Vrabel, Dave Thomas, Rodney, Seymour, Izzo, Green, Evans, and others do.

Have you ever seen the "Huddle at Home" segments on WHDH? We all know the Pats stick with high-character guys.

The only guys I could possibly think of are Moss, Andrews, Faulk, who've all been known now, and possibly a few others. Jackson? Maroney? Not sure.

Re: Ugh Faulk Arrested (Yes Kevin)

A) That's not the point. One is illegal, one isn't.

B) I find it sad how many people on this board believe marijuana is absolutely fine. Then again, this is Massachusetts. Not exactly Conservative America. Unfortunately.

I agree completely.

not to cast anyone out but i have heard players on your list have smoked.

I know of big name players who are no longer here who have too.

35 may have been conservative

You would have put Faulk in that group, too, if it wasn't for this past offense, or what criterion are you using to judge this?
