Sick of the double standard

Great post.
I get the sense that what you are 'attacking' is the fan attitude that losing would be OK because we have an excuse. And of course it is not. If we take the field, there is only one acceptable result, winning.

I do think one thing that changes, particularly for me, if that as recently as a week ago, I posted that I do not think anything less than a SB Championship could be considered a successful year. I have to say now, with Brady out, that I would tone that down.
We have gone from "There is no reason we shouldn't win the SB" to "We may have a chance to win the SB" meaning we go from a team that ought to win it in all to just another good team that is in contention.

Andy, I followed that thread and posted pretty much about this exact scenario....and my "definition of a successful year" differed from other people's. While losing isnt 'acceptable", it is part of the game, someone has to lose. I HATE bad losers AND bad winners, and feel being realistic and balanced is the way I like to post. I think the original poster also means that he is seeing both sides of the same arguement and cant process it. Alot of people are still in the "rationalization" stage of their "recovery".
That said a good game by Cassel still doesnt "insure a win", but a BAD game by Cassel doesnt "insure a loss" either. One thing I did say though, before the injury, was that the team as a whole might be better off with one loss early in the season....but thats and arguement that can neither be won nor lost. We can only hope we dont have to find out. LOL.

Do you love your team? It sounds like you love Tom Brady and will love the team only if Brady comes back. No love for Cassel.

How you got that out of my post is beyond me. I love everyone who wears the jersey.

It doesn't make a person a bad fan to be disappointed about the injury or to think it's going to have an effect. I think there's going to be a transition period. I hope I'm wrong. I hope Matt Cassel is awesome. I'm worried he won't be.
