SI.com: Midseason predictions

NE vs Seattle was my preseason pick. I still see a lot of people picking Minnesota, which I find baffling. I wasn't impressed with them even when they were 5-0.

NE vs Dallas would be interesting. Can you imagine the ratings?

One guy Jacob Feldman seems to have his reasons to not pick the pats

This is also the weird year where a midseason prediction requires defending my decisionnot to select a certain team as much as explain my Super Bowl pick, so here goes. I can't get behind an overwhelming favorite when it has a mediocre defense (see: 754 yards allowed over two Bills games) and a quarterback old enough to be Ezekiel Elliott’s dad (even if he is currently playing at Biblical levels). And it's especially tough when said team’s only victories over winning teams have come against Landry Jones and Brock Osweiler.

i like how a win over the texans doesnt count because their starter is garbage.

I also love that we won three games with our second AND third string QB's one of which got put on Ir right after our only loss because his thumb that he played on was that messed up.

But none of that matters because we gave up a lot of yards to the bills(a team that was 4-2 not too long ago. prior to getting beat up by the pats)

Jacob Feldmans real job:

it'll be Pats vs sea/gb/dallas/minn

I imagine it was last year at this point too.

Health...if I believed in football gods anymore, I'd burn 100 totems of Goodell and dance naked around a fire fueled by Papa Johns pizza to make sure we stayed healthy.
Too bad you don't believe in the football gods. We'd all love to see pics.

I get the Landry Jones thing somewhat, since we played a much lesser version of the Steelers than everyone else did. I don't get the Brock Osweiler thing, since everyone else that played the Texans also played Osweiler, and most of them lost anyway. The Texans are pretty good, and the fact that they're pretty good in spite of their QB doesn't change that. 5-3 is 5-3, and if he really feels the need to introduce some kind of QB handicap to that result he should probably note that we won that game with Jacoby Brissett.

Seems like a case of someone trying to justify a bias after the fact.

Feldman's reasons are solid and exactly what we would be saying if it was the Colts and Manning who had given up those yards and not beaten anyone impressive.

I don't agree with his conclusion but fair's fair.

How can anyone NOT get behind Mr Tom Brady the living legend? And I'm serious

Personally, I don't make predictions. I just hope really, really hard

Every year since 2010 the thing I have learned is that there is always something that could make a sad ending. Last year seemed like a certainty until the injuries... And the most I doubted this team in that whole stretch since 2010 was the year we won the thing after the KC game.. So who knows.

(2006, 2007 also, but everything since 2010 feels like "this era")

There is way too much optimism about the Vikings in that article. They have lost two in a row scoring just 10 ponts in each game and Norv Turner just quit. There are several NFC teams I would take over them.

Health...
Yep. All the blah blah blahing in the world aside, it comes down to health, just basic execution, and no fluky nonsense for 3 games.

That'll be a tough game, but I guess that's the only way Gooddell will get the results he wants, if we have to face all 4 teams at once ;-)

Dallas seems more likely than Seattle to come out of the NFC at this point.
