$4M for one year is double the amount I would've offered him. That is very serious over-payment.

There goes whatever cap space we might've had.
Do you know what the state of the Pats cap is specifically? I'd sure like to see it if you've seen it.

I know. How dare they spend money on a pass rusher!

Here's what I love:

The Jets had said that they wanted Ellis back but offered only the veteran minimum of $910,000 and, Ellis said, refused to increase it substantially when he went back to them for a final offer.

Who's cheap now? Who doesn't "pay their players?"

There's a difference between "paying" and "overpaying." The Pats have refused to pay guys like Asante and Mankins. The Jets refused to overpay Ellis.

Who do you trust more - Rexy or BB?

Flashes? Really? Who was he flashing?

He actually got in some games last year but that hardly constitutes a flash. And he seemed to have a new attitude toward cheeseburgers this off season. So who knows but I did not see any flashes.
Watch more closely when he's in. He blew up a 4th down run against Loadholt on the goal line in the Vikings game. He had a number of other good plays, too. He's shown enough to this point to deserve another year of development.
