I forget the guy, but he retired in like 1952 and played nose tackle in a 5-2, the standard formation at the time. The position slowly morphed into a 4-3 MLB.Will soon be making a stop in the Pats HOF. IDK if he makes the pro football HOF. He has a decent chance as he was the best nose tackle of his generation imo but i wonder how much that is valued.
I don't think there is a single true nose tackle on the HOF.

Edit: my mistake he is listed as a "middle guard" There are zero nose tackles.
