Semi-OT: NFL cracking down on film analysis

So Bedard's not going to be able to post his game film analysis on BSJ?

I imagine people will have to purchase licensing. What's interesting is I think the NBA did the opposite of this recently, or at least made their film more accessible for this use. Podcasts with video components made due with narrating it (that being said, basketball is much easier to visualize and explain)

Amateur analyst who can't afford licensing will have to get good at diagramming out plays or doing their own visualizations.

**** the NFL for doing this (as private equity creeps in nonetheless, NBD let's just ignore that ) but I think people can adapt.

The pieces of crap who run this league would charge fans for air in the stadiums if they could.

I'm Agnostic, but they make me hope Hell is a real place.
I'm Catholic, and I wish it wasn't.

Good news though is there are no atheists there

What is the end goal here?

"Oh boy, I don't really understand the nuances of the game that deeply but I sure do enjoy these fellas online explaining it all to me with game film! What's that? They can't anymore? Well, golly, I guess I'll uh... just go buy the film, and uh... figure it out... myself...?"

“I have a great idea! If the home team doesn’t sell out the stadium, then the local market won’t be able to watch the free TV broadcast. That’ll force the fans to buy tickets! Genius!”

It's wild that this 1950s way of thinking persists.

"Oh no! The game is blacked out, Ethel. Guess I'll have to spend a nickel on a game ticket."

We're less than a decade away from all games on streaming. Anyone who doesn't think some media company will pay $5B/year, maybe more, is nucking futs. Amazon is paying $1B/year to air ONE game a week - and it's usually a ****ty game. the TV contracts expire after the 2033 season, so be prepared to watch your last season of "free" NFL football 8 years from now. Hopefully the Pats will get another SB in that timeframe. Come 2033, ESPN will need premium content for whatever streaming platform they're selling - same for Fox, NBC Universal - you name. By that time we'll probably have some Saudi owned streaming giant. NFL owners have no shame. They're the most greedy scum on the earth and they try to shield themselves from criticism with social justice activism.

Possibly. Are they dumb enough to do what baseball did? I suppose they are, greed knows no bounds with these people.
