As someone who agrees with Jon Bois on a political level I found it kind of disingenuous to bring up how Atlanta voted against Trump (which is true!) without also showing that all 6 New England states did as well and in Massachusetts in particular it wasn’t even remotely close. Hey, if you open up the Pandora’s box of judging a team by how their fan bases voted for which candidate, which is an awful idea btw, then you need to admit that by any metric a larger percentage of Patriots fans voted against Trump than Falcons fans did. Just saying, he started it.

Also Jon Bois is a Chiefs fan whose fanbase is Missouri, Kansas and Kentucky so don’t throw stones in glass houses.

WTF, did the author need another reason to hate on the Pats, Trump, really?

It's true that the Falcons got a lot of bandwagon fans because the press made a big thing about how Kraft, Belichick and Brady knew Trump and how Trump was a Pats fan, and it became a weird political proxy war thing where the Pats were Trump's team. That was definitely A Thing that hung over the game, even if it was irrational as hell.

Of course betting on the Falcons to beat Trump by proxy uhhhhhhh did not work out well to say the least. Then Brady ghosted Trump twice only to visit Biden after the Tampa Bay win to crack election jokes.
