I bet there will be no stockpiling picks into 2009. After Goodell took away the 1st RD pick from Pats in 2008, coupled with Goodell's oath to the media that more penalties could be on the way if further evidence is found, I see them using all the #3 picks this year in order to potentially have less in the cupboard later that could be taken away.

I do suspect the penalty was harsher because the Pats had an extra pick this year.

However, I don't think the Pats expect further penalties, so I don't think that would be a consideration.

Grading what I wrote a few hours ago:

What I got right
More DBs (duh)
An OLB
No RB or FB
No true WR
No true DE
No K/LS (duh)

What I got wrong
I didn't expect a highish QB
I did expect one OL
I expected or at least hoped for an NT
Ditto, a punter
I forgot to comment on the chances for a TE
I forgot about the possibility of a fairly pure ST player like Slater

Pretty mediocre performance on my part.
