Schefter Report: Falcons Plan to Hire Raheem Morris as Head Coach for 2024 season

Tom saved Bill's ass. He would've been fired ala Pete Carroll.
And as a 2-time failed head coach he would have probably had a tougher time finding a new HC job than even now. I could see him going back to a full time DC role and being very good at it which he still is.

by wanting to keep him, just to see if he can work out with new talent, that does indeed make you his biggest fan
Pape these guys go down too easily gotta have a competent Back-up these days. Jones should be at least good for that Zappe sucks. Keeping Mac in 24 would be a wise for us not much on the books.

Probably selling insurance.

It's a wave. When the NFL front offices start realizing it's not that hard to shut down these offenses, it will go back. McDaniel's time in Miami has already reached its crest. They've figured him out.
Yup, they figured out that they need to get MIA to play in cold.

Did better last year under Patricia than he did this year under a "real OC".

Could the receivers be better? absolutely. Could we have re-signed Jakobi Meyers? Not only yes, but Yes, we should have.

But Mac was consistently bad. High Throws, Throwing across the field, throwing off his back foot... throwing across the field on his back foot... every cardinal sin a qb could make, Mac made... and nothing changed all season long.
The problem is Patricia was still a downgrade to the prior year and frankly we very obviously lost talent on offense post Patricia that exasperated the problem in addition to the Patricia year basically finishing Mac off.

He would have been a Wade Phillips type. Extremely respected as a coordinator, but not viewed as a gut that can get the top job.

absolutely Matt Patricia was a downgrade.

He never should have agreed to take that role. and even worse, BB never should have offered him that role. Nick Caley was primed, and should have been given the opportunity to step up into the OC position...

Wasn't it Phillips who benched Flutie for Rob Johnson in Buffalo?

Phillips is a great DC. Gave the Pats fits.

And then Drew was healthy. He even won the AFCCG!
The BB haters like to think that he was lucky that Bledsoe was injured. If there is any doubt about making a conscious choice, the fact that an injured Brady started in the super bowl vs a healthy Bledsoe should make it clear that BB made a hard decision.

Based on the last two years in 22 the Patricia and Judge circus then literally horse **** on Offense in 23. Yeah Mac has is issues but BB did him no favors Mayo need the dump all the BB deadwoods on Offense Parker - Juju and Tyquan and move on with his guys.
Remember this? Lol

Not sure anyone thinks that but that isn’t the issue. The issue is Bill has been awful with personnel and coaching hires. Can’t just take the coach, gotta take the whole thing.

Bet he ends up with the Giants next year when they fire Daboll
I'd take that bet.

I like how we blamed this all on Belichick for a year only to find out it was the front office analytic guys who made this decision.

And it made me think of taking Tyquan too. Fast downfield guys over guys who move the sticks. It doesn't sound like Belichick.

Bless you Tom Brady I tell you all those Draft Blunders and he wonders why he has no takers. You ain't the sharpest tool in the shed anymore BB. Should have cleaned those binoculars.

Im going to say you may not have been paying attention.

14 points against the Bills' banged up defense AT Miami (I know it's always freezing down there).
19 points against the Ravens in 50 degree and dry weather.
20 points against Dallas AT Miami.

Only one win all year against a team with a winning record.

If you're building your offense for perfect conditions only, then what the heck are you doing?

Your Defense of BB is indefensible!! There is no way he didn't have the final say. He couldn't Coach up anybody on Offense he lost his mojo.

He was told he would have to give in on some personnel decisions. How do you know he didn't?

Your defense of Mac Jones this morning really is an eye-opener.

Call it a hunch BB/GM killed BB/HC coach Cap aka captain stone can tell you can't have one without the other.

Congrats to the Falcons. Great move. Playoff bound next season.

Making things up again I see. Bill was not on his way out he was in his second season and his Franchise QB suffered a pretty significant injury. This was also a time when teams gave more than a 2 or 3 year window before firing people.

You're right, that was a different time.

IF I'm them I'm taking Nix or Pennix jr at 8 they are a QB away they have talent already.
