I still contend a lot of teams would have lost Brady because they felt they could sneak him onto the practice squad as a 6th round pick.

We got Danny Woodhead from the Rats because the Rats decided to keep the lesser performing RB because he was a 3rd round pick.
good point.

No he's the GOAT coach I just been firm believer of Brady > BB camp but that's not what this topic about so I'll save it for some other time.
This is where we differ.

I am a firm believer in Brady & Belichick > Everyone else in football. **** Brady vs Bill. Its too bad you let the Felger-types of the world convince you that Brady vs Belichick is a real thing.

You literally **** on everything this team accomplished by buying into that crap and repeating it... Its the antithesis of what the Patriots Dynasty really meant/stood for.

The moment the Patriots decided to "Be introduced as a Team" in Super Bowl XXXVI... That should tell you all you need to know, but unfortunately, I don't think it will ever really sink in because you are so entrenched in the myopic Brady vs Bill argument to ever grasp the point.

The claim that BB’s success is wholly contingent on lucking into Brady does not garner a thoughtful response. It’s a ridiculous claim, befit the reaction it received.

Emoji reactions come with the territory on this forum. Tagging members and requesting a written response should they react (negatively) to a post, ain’t it.
There is an awful lot of factual evidence to back up just that. We have almost 11 years of Bill without Brady to look at, and of course, three years of Brady without Bill.

The contrast is absolutely stunning. Just think about this for a second. Brady at age 43 got a fully guaranteed contract of $50 million to go play with Tampa Bay where they let him bring in all his guys to make a run at the Super Bowl which he won in year one. Bill Has literally only interviewed with one team - the crappy Falcons- and got passed over by Raheem Morris. Let that really really sink in.

I can't understand why Seattle wouldn't go after him.

The last time Belichick replaced Carroll, the team won a super Bowl in his second year.
Saw what you did there Seattle is trying to get younger not older is that area. Also Carroll's Offense was more in this century unlike BB's.

Gut punch.

I think Vrabel not getting the job is even weirder. He seems like such a good candidate to me? Why wouldn’t any of the teams want him?
Vrabel has age on his side he can sit a year BB on the other hand approaching impossible territory at age next Year.

thats horse ****.

He drafted Brady. He kept him on the roster as a 4th qb. And he had the balls to replace a 100m qb a year later.

little bit more than "lucked" into him
It sounds a little like the "if Bill is so good then why doesn't any team want him" argument. In both cases it's more complicated.

What Bill put on tape these last two seasons is why he hasn’t been hired IMO. What a dumpster fire, and he ruined a young quarterback in Mac Jones.
Mac Jones ... did himself no favors ... do not hold him blameless in his short comings.

He really brought this on himself. You have to give a **** about the offensive side of the ball if you want to succeed in the league.
That won't sit well with the IBBWT Homers... But it's truth in Today's NFL. BB literally ruined a young QB plus fielded the 32nd ranked Offense yeah a slew of Teams ain't lining up for your services BB sorry.

It sounds like "exactly what happened in 2000 & 2001"... Trying to re-write that? I don't get it.

at a certain point, its no longer the coaching thts the issue - its the player.

That's crap of course it goes both ways. He saw talent, he coached it up, and chose it over the franchise at the time in Drew. In the other case he thought he saw talent, tried to coach it up and turns out he sucked.
Bill didn't choose Tom over Drew. He chose Drew but Drew got hurt.

I often wonder what would have come of the Brady vs Bill debate if they stayed together here. There might have always been some debate but once Brady left that all changed. The debate became heated.

In a perfect world, there would be no debate. Brady & Belichick . Brady v Belichick

But we like to eat our young, apparently. Only Dynasty I know where the name of the game is infighting.

Aikman won a SB with Switzer and Brady won a SB with Arians.

Those are rare examples of HOF QBs and average HCs having success. Prolonged success in Tampa was not attainable because eventually you need a great HC which Arains was not.

BB and Brady are the reason why Kraft has 6 Lombardi banners hanging in his stadium.

Sigh. I'll say this again, they spent 16 picks on the offense side to 11 picks on the defensive side in the last 3 drafts. Draft value was equal.

They spent a lot on offensive side FAs (no, Im not talking JAGs, but the big contracts). To say they didn't care goes against the record.

The team was a total rebuild.

2021 the defense had 6 old (30+ yrs old) starters on it and they didn't give up a punt to the Bills in the playoffs. They HAD to revamp the defense as well as the offense.

AND we had Mac Jones. A guy who went on a blithering cryfest after spraining his ankle.

They wouldve lost many games together. Hell Brady did the same as the Patriots in his last yr in Tampa. On a more talented team
