I thought it was a premptive strike against the NFL for the Patriots to suspend Jas and McNally first. They have to be reinstated before the NFL punishment takes place. If the Patriots had not suspended them, then the NFL punishment would have taken effect when it was handed down. it's even possible that the punishment would have been different. By suspending them first, it gave the chance for all the evidence to be seen and heard before the Patriots asked for reinstatement. As you can see, the spotlight is on the NFL about the reinstatement.
Now I am thinking, why would the NFL ask the Pats to suspend Jas and McNally and not just do it themselves. I see no possible backlash if the NFL did the suspending instead of the Patriots. It just makes no sense to me. Why would they ask the Patriots to suspend them but it's so darn important that they deny they had any hand in it.
Now it makes sense, they may be afraid of a lawsuit but then if they are reinstated, the NFL punishment takes place and Jas and McNally have grounds to sue the NFL. I'm thinking that the NFL thought the lawsuit would be against the Patriots and not the NFL. I think Jas and McNally got very wise council from some lawyers to wait before they filed any lawsuits. It's no wonder the NFL is lieing again. I am hoping the Patriots have evidence that the NFL asked them to suspend Jas and McNally.
