I don't follow many poster's "he knows our system".

are you suggesting that our O system - or at least the core of it - has not changed since Branch held us for ransom??

Same basically terminology and concepts, although I would agree the offense does look a little different.

New WRs have to learn a whole new language/concepts. Many WRs have said our offense is significantly more complex than most around the league.

Branch learning a new play is like learning the meaning of a new english word. A new WR learning the whole system is like having to get around Paris after one week of French.

Tate's playing flanker, and I think they feel fine with him. I don't think they felt fine with Price at split-end, and I don't think they felt fine with moving one of our slot specialists out to play split-end. Hence why Deion is here.

I, for one, have never felt any ill will toward the guy. I welcome him back and look forward to seeing him with a Flying Elvis on his head again.

Me too. I hated losing him, but at least he went out of the division. Glad to have him back.

Didnt want to hear this news.. Deion has a history of ailments during his tenor with the Patriots. Even worst at Seattle, as he is now older.

It's not that it's hard to part a 4th rounder, rather, he WILL get hurt, matter of time. Then, you ask, is it worth it.. Also, what is his $$ ? He makes abit over 5mill this year, and next year close to 6mill. I dont believe BillB is that stupid in taking over that salary...

I think this takes some of the pressure off of Welker and Hernandez. The addition of Branch will open the middle up a little bit for Welker to have space to get open, and then Hernandez can stick to his natural position of TE and not have to be a WR and create better match ups for him.

The Pats gave up a 4th for Branch.

Why does this seem so......uneven to me? I don't care if he "wrote" the Pat's system, I don't think he was worth a 4th and I am expecting absolutely nothing from this guy....nothing.

Overpaid, the reason? Brady won't take the rest of the season developing chemistry with a receiver he doesn't know. THis is a benefit to the team this year. Guess Price isn''t ready to step up yet.

LOL I didn't mean Branch is going to carry us to the Superbowl by any stretch of the imagination I simply asked if the formula could equal a Superbowl again.
What I see is a happy Brady that can lead to a superbowl can it not?
I also love what he could do to mentor Tate and he could become our 04 Branch.

Glad he is back, shame they never worked things out in 06, but who says you cant go back.. he has a connection with Brady, and I think he could still play... as long as he takes coverage off of welker we will be fine..

The defense will in the end determine how far the 2010 Patriots go, not any member of the offense.
