The only amazing thing I see on this thread is how no one is asking for Kraft to walk away from football

Not only he's completely gutless, he's past that retirement point of "enjoying life" to being completely shameless.

Personally? I doubt Kraft fired BB, i think BB was too adamant of relinquising control and couldn't trust RK to make good decisions.

Ever since deflategate, EVERYTHING Kraft does irks me, it's actually incredible

To Kraft's credit, he knows Bill very intimately. I think he knew deep down, that BB can't change his ways/instincts.
And Bill might say and want to be just HC, but he'd never be okay with it - and it would certainly be a square peg & round hole with any other GM.
Then, throw into that mix the group of coordinators Kraft would probably like to bring in to help push toward modernizing and prep for the eventual (and soon) departure... It's just the right call to make now. It was always going to be bittersweet and nostalgia ridden when it happened.

Kraft alluding that Bill surrounded himself with Yes men. Wow, he's not holding back.

He obviously read our posts criticizing Bill.

I don't care! I can't stand it!

I can only hope BB agreed to amend the contract forcing Kraft to still pay him $25M, and in exchange Kraft wouldn't trade Bill to the Chargers or some disaster team.

With all due respect, you’re an ungrateful idiot.
Hah

ungrateful? Maybe

idiot? pretty sure Im not

I will accept your disagreement bc of "due respect", but I don't comply with the american mentality that I owe anything for cheesecake-looking billionaire just bc he bought a sports team

You do you, I do me.

Oh no my friend … I’ve been saying it for days. I think it’s time Jonathan steps up.

Kraft: till we settled what we settled yesterday and announced it today.

So he was fired yesterday but the Saban / Carroll news probably pushed announcement a day.

Coaches can’t be traded without their agreement to go work for that team

I don’t really care how it went down. Finally the right decision was made.
Very grateful for Bill, now lets move on.

From Tom :
I’m incredibly grateful to have played for the best coach in the history of the NFL.

He was a great leader for the organization, and for all of the players who played for him. We accomplished some amazing things over a long period of time, many of which will be hard to replicate. he worked every day to help us achieve the ultimate goal, in the ultimate team sport. And, although we were successful, some of the greatest lessons, I learned, were in the moments where we faced the most challenging adversities. He set the tone for the organization, to never Falter in the face of adversity, and to do what we could do, and what was in our control, which was to go out and do our job.

I could never have been the player I was without you Coach Belichick. I am forever grateful. And I wish you the best of luck in whatever you choose next.

If Kraft is anything he's a coward.

Kraft bowed to the pressure of a national media clamoring for Belichick's release out of fear of being labeled an incompetent owner for not doing so. A national media that might spend all of 20 minutes a week thinking about the Patriots, with opinions of the team formed on highlights and box scores.

Take the media frenzy out of this and Kraft doesn't make the same decision.

You know, maybe follow a team who's owner doesn't enrage you?

If you listen to Kraft in interviews he was the guiding force throughout all 6 Superbowls. Working tirelessly in the background to "keep it all together".

You'd also learn from the interviews that Kraft wears custom Air Force Ones. An amazing thing to learn about those shoes if you hadn't heard already.

Having the drunk owner firing a 6x Superbowl winning coach then immediately confusing the press conference for a celebration doesn't give you confidence?
RK retiring and introducing JK as head of the franchise would inspire more confidence

Well Kraft didn't get the idea from the bottom of a bottle or out of some 20 year old's ass.
