Showed up a little late but didn't miss any of the fun stuff.

Noticed BB's kids were there to help out.

One real interesting thing I saw today was for at least one period it seemed as Gerrard Warren was working at nose with Vince on the end (we saw this a little last year and looks to be returning).

Tate continues to stand out with one real nice grab and a bunch of others.

Mesko has a strong leg and seems to get some good hang time but he did shank a couple today.

Sanders and Arrington had a real nice play to knock a ball down before it could get to Farnham in the back of the end zone. I couldn't tell who actually knocked it down but I think either would have if the other didn't.

Heavy run orientated practice which meant there was a lot of good contact and I noticed Gronk make a few decent blocks.

Highlight of the practice came at the end when they worked in the red zone. Again run heavy in mind.

Play one was a pass to the flat to Morris for a TD but Tully had a decent pass rush and who knows what would have happened.

Play two was a sweep or toss left and Pryor knifed into the backfield and would have easily made the play again it went for a TD though. I think this ticked the D off a little because after two OK plays they still let up 2 TDs.

Play 3 dive up the middle and McKenzie laid out the back with a few other defenders piling on. (this was the second O though)

Play 4 another run this time it seemed off tackle left. And Merriweather and Mckenzie and someone else was there to make the play with Merriweather doing the bulk of the work.

as always I will add anything I forgot about. I will back for the afternoon session too.

So... I guess Tate has impressed, huh?

When Welker went down, WR is shaping up to be one of the weakest units on the team. And now all of a sudden it appears to be one of the strongest/deepest. Funny how that works.

ILB could come out being strong as well.

I guess now would be a good time to caution that I thought Chad Jack looked legit on the TC field too.

It is definitely funny how things can turn fast. After a year of seemingly relying only on Moss and Welker and than seeing welker go down we sure thought we were in trouble. But Edelman showed enough last year to be excited, it doesn't look long until Wes is back, Tate has returned, we drafted 3 guys 1 WR and 2 TEs, and we brought in 2 vets Holt and Patten and what looked like a problem has too many options at the moment.

Another thing that has stood out to me thru 3 practices and this is despite few spectacular plays so far but I think I am getting excited about our safeties both Chung and Merriweather are high energy aggressive players and they seem to really like to stick their noses in wether it be at the line of scrimmage or by making a break for the ball in the air. They just fly around.

Great notes Thanks again.

Really liking the sound of Tate. Seems to have made a full recovery

BB agrees

Belichick said Tate’s preparation for this season is naturally “way, way ahead of where it was last year.” Belichick added that Tate “has had a good offseason” from a learning and technique standpoint, but now he needs to put it all together on the field in training camp.

FYPFY. McGowan, unfortunately, has a tendency to just fly around.

Gresh and Zolak were gushing about spikes. SBB, you notes didn't mention him, but they said he made a couple of great tackles during the red zone plays. Zolak said he reminded him of Mayo during Mayo's rookie season. If he can come anywhere close to that during the regular season, the Pat's will be all set at ILB

what about price? he doesnt seem to be mentioned anywhere...

•The unquestioned highlight of the day came during a goal-line sequence late in practice, when inside linebacker Tyrone McKenzie met running back Laurence Maroney in the hole and absolutely throttled him. (A play or two later, Maroney also got lit up in the hole by a couple of linebackers, one of which was McKenzie.) A big hit for the South Florida product.

In one running rep Tyrone McKenzie did a nice job taking on a pulling Nick Kaczur, fighting off the block and then wrapping up the running back. McKenzie certainly looks the part and has the hard-nosed style of a run-first inside linebacker.

I am guessing that was an angle thing..I think we were talking about the same plays....I said McKenzie made the tackle with some other guys helping out....My guess is the other helping out was Spikes though I am pretty sure it was more McKenzie's play.

The one that I thought was Merriweather I think it may have been Spikes in the area too and this time If Gresh and Zo said it was more Spikes I wouldn't argue because there was more traffic in my way this time.

I watched him more yesterday than today. He looks pretty good. But I think Tate is stealing the show and Moss is Moss and Edelman is getting good reps too so there is a bit of a log jam there. With Welker working in the Shadows and the young TEs reciever is really stealing the show this camp and Price is part of it.

I would caution that it is easy for the WRs to steal the show as they more than any other position work close to the crowd.
