Some other team won't mind absorbing some of his salary if they are desperate for WR help.
JuJu is certainly no game changer at this point in his career. I think teams interested in him will wait until he is cut and see what he costs on the open market rather than mortgaging a future pick and absorbing a ridiculous salary.

Don’t get me wrong : I do think Jacoby playing is the right call and I am glad he signed with NE. But he isn’t the long term answer.

if Zappe was going to be anything in this league and that he isn’t showing he deserves a shot with this QB room in camp……….

I'm not sure what you're arguing against. I didn't say Zappe was going to be anything. I just pointed out that there's other QB rooms that look to be as weak as the Patriots.

People been saying that about Milton for 4 years.
Maybe it's the scotch, but I'm reminded of the classic conundrum of what happens when Clark Kent makes whoopie with Lois Lane? I mean that stuff will blast through right out the back like it came from a grassy knoll.

In case anyone is still wondering why Brissett is the starter.
55% with 2INTs is separating himself? (Based on 9/14 INT and 2/6 INT - not that I'm worried because Brisk historically has the best INT% in history among eligible passers).

It might have been a rest, stretch, and recover day since the Pats have tomorrow off. Injury avoidance day.
More likely a trip to IR and a return for Game 5…

Maybe I am missing something. How can Kyed say it is a competitive practice if there are interceptions from Jaylinn Hawkins and Alex Austin, and pass breakups from Hawkins, S Dell Pettus, and CB Azizi Hearn. That is not exactly the A squad . Who is Dell Pettus? Azizi Hearn is camp fodder. So it is a competitive practice when Brissett goes against the C team, with none or the guys likely to be on the final 53, and they are intercepting and breaking up Brissett's passes? What am I missing?
Yeah it's Emperor's New Clothes - esque...

I’d also take the NE QBs over those - but almost wholly on the hope a rookie becomes a player. I think that NE’s qb room is, as we stand, very very weak.

It’s weak to the point that if Zappe isn’t good enough to even practice in Foxborough, you’d need to think he’d not get a shot in other camps either.
If the blockers, weapons and Van Pelt are great at their job, Brissett will play the best football of his career assuming health. He’s better than people assume, and QB’s get smarter with age.

Today Milton didn’t get reps, there’s only so many reps to go round. Zappe might go somewhere and get an opportunity down the road. QB’s have long shelf lives.

He could do what he did for KC the year before last. He doesn’t have the change the world to make himself useful.

Nobody is counting stats in practice. The operation is cleaner with Brissett.

Maye has to nail down how to line them up, recognize blitz, adjust and snap the ball. Until he can do that, how well he throws the ball is irrelevant.

Nah I think he's on to something.

Reporting "stats" of QB's on 7v7 drills is the dumbest thing ever. How misleading and useless.
Also, if our D is somewhat comparable to last year - even at this relative stage in camp, then it's not the worst thing that Maye is struggling so much. Also - there's no better way to learn through fire and start with humble pie.
It'd be a real problem if a rookie had a bottom-5 D to practice on, and got over-inflated sense of confidence.
I have a feeling Maye will do okay his first preseason game, then the hype train will return.
