Regarding that OPI, I believe the defense is allowed to make contact with receivers within five yards of the LOS. Doesn't the same apply to receivers making contact with defenders?

This might be the worst run of officiating in history
-Blow backward pass dead, don’t replay down
-Miss face mask where guy rips helmet and throws it down the field
-Call OPI within 5 yards where CB started contact and WR fights thru it
-Calls DPI when feet get tangled

All within like 5 minutes

No. Offense within 1 yard.

That said, that's a laughable OPI call, was just basic handfighting.

Did u see the play I was referring to, happened before the OPI?
It was way worse than than the OPI.
Young throws a swing pass to the flat that was clearly backwards.
Dowdle drops it but quickly picks it up and has room room to run.
They blow the play dead as incomplete, missing that it was a backwards pass. So Dowdle stops running.
Then they say it was a backwards pass and they blew the play dead because the ball went out of bounds (when they blew the whistle Dowdle had the ball in his hands 5 yards INBOUNDS from the sideline.
So in the end, Carolina has a 6 yard loss because they blew the play dead as incomplete, but then changed their mind it was a backwards pass but Dowdle couldn't advance it because they blew it dead.
NFL officiating is an abomination.

If they lose you will look back at that drive and think.... where was this urgency the whole game? That's honestly what i think every time a game is turned into a 1 score affair after a game full of bad offense with less than 3 minutes left.

I always felt teams should play the way they do when there are only 5 or so minutes left when there are 10-15 minutes left. If you need to score... force a 3 and out, then score again... you have put yourself in a position where teams lose 95% of the time.

That 2nd timeout should have been held until after 2 minutes in case they got the first down also knowing they were likely throwing and clock would stop if not a first down, bad use of that timeout

Punt return was also dumb, if they were going for block then rush 11, why have guy run backwards instead of having returner to fair catch. Bad coaching

But I think Tampa has more talent and would be a better playoff team now that they are a little healthier.
