Wait. I thought the media has been saying the Colts are aging and getting old. I sure wish the Colts had experienced veteran players despite all the young guys. Manning, Saturday, Diem, Harrison, Wayne, Clark, Freeney, Mathis, Brackett, Sanders, Vinatieri etc.

If so, we should be in good shape.

Let's face it buddy, this year is any given Sunday at it's finest. You can't predict a thing. Admit it. You cannot predict the rest of the year or the playoffs. Neither can I, nor do I care to. I hate predictions. I take it one week at a time.

Certain players are getting old. The media is more saying that the Colts have strangled their cap by giving the star players too much money forcing the Colts to start a lot of young players at other positions and stripping them of their depth.

Well, if the way the Colts have been playing this year is fine, more power to you.

I do agree that predictions are pretty useless. But you got indignant when I said before the season that the Colts would not be an elite team and would not win the division and would probably be a 10-6. At this point, I am betting you hope I am right about the 10-6 prediction.

No. We are too young and will crack under this pressure and point fingers.

I hope you don't think Peyton is getting old. Wait till Brady tries to come back from much more severe knee surgery at age 32 next year.

We have 4 starters 30 +. Manning, Adam, Saturday, Harrison.

I am not saying there will be a bunch of finger pointing, but it is natural for younger players to question themselves and their team when things go wrong. It happens on every team that struggles. It all depends on the players around them and how they help to keep them focused.

Manning isn't getting old, but I think he is still far less than 100%. Manning has at least another 3-5 years before age really starts to set in. I was more refering to the other three you mentioned. The are certain players who get old on every team. Harrison clearly losing a step and having problems getting separation is significant though.

Well I agree with you here. But, I am not fully ready to judge Harrison yet. I think Manning is overthrowing or underthrowing many passes and something is off at times. Steve Young thinks his plant leg is not there yet. I do think Harrison is overpaid for his production and this offseason will have to take a pay cut or retire. I don't see him on another team. I think Gonzalez needs more looks in games. Harrison still has some juice left but needs to take a paycut.

Manning still has it but it's tough and I have a hard time criticizing him. I felt this surgery was minor this offseason and I was wrong and he had two. I still think he is coming back from it. Granted, we never face a soft defense either so it's always a constant battle every week. He is coming around but making too many mistakes the last few weeks. I think Manning is the man and he has been playing through pain often, but is getting better.

If we make the playoffs I like our chances. If we don't, well it's a good draft coming and let's get a stud DT.

And the last thing I want to mention is I think it's so sad Brady got hurt so badly and I know Manning played hurt for the first several games of the year. I could see how much thinner Peyton was and how pale and sweaty he was at times. He was on antibiotics and was not healthy for some games. I still am not sure he is there yet but he is pretty close I believe.

I always like to see dominant QBs play. And to see both elite QBs in this league get hurt and suffer is just not cool. So far this season has been just flat out off and I don't know what to think.

I don't think there any other QBs that compare to them when they are healthy.

I hope this is not the end of the rivalry and next season Brady vs. Manning is back in full swing.

He also needs to "remember" where he leaves his guns. :singing:

Yes I agree. Marvin is a mystery all right. But, then again this entire Colts team has been all season. I don't know what to expect at anytime.

I do agree that I would rather see a battle Sunday night vs. two of the greatest QBs of all time at full strength than a less than full strength Manning vs. Cassel on his seventh start since 1999.

Rob0729, why do we have to keep on about Mr. High School? He's got 7 games under his belt and has been practicing and studying since he was a teenager.

A full strength Manning vs. Cassel really doesn't worry me all that much. I believe we can still put up a load of points. It's our D that has to step up, and I think they will.

I'm am saying that the game would be far more interesting to watch if it was a healthy Brady vs. a healthy Manning. I think the Pats will win Sunday (it guaranteeing it though), but it would be far more fulfilling it was a classic Brady vs. Manning battle.

Cassel and his lack of NFL or College experience doesn't bother me in my take on whether the Pats win or lose, but it does affect the entertainment value and drama of this game.

I agree, a classic battle would be great. I remember hoping Manning would be in top form for this game when his surgery first came to light (before Brady went down). As it is, we still get some drama. Up-and-comer vs. Star QB entering the back 9 of his career.

The Colts NEED this win. So does Cassel. This game could be amazingly intense if we focus on the story line that is, rather than what we long for.

Sunday night vs. Tennessee was their Super Bowl. They played for the division title and lost. This week is their Salvage Their Season Bowl.

People are thinking too much of this game for the Colts. From their standpoint, the Tennessee game was far more important than this one.

Going forward every game is big for them because with four losses and hitting the meat of the schedule, they can't afford to lose any games.

Good insight. I agree that the Ten game was the biggy for them. If Buf keeps winning, that will be our really big game equivilent. This game for the Colts is a desperation game... just like most of their future games will be. Their backs are against the wall and they have to keep winning if they want to salvage their season.

If we win, it won't be much more significant than any other win this year. The so-called experts will say that the Colts are a bad team and that we still haven't beaten a winning team. If we lose, we will still be 5-3 and in the playoff hunt. Still, I really want the Pats to beat the Colts!

History has shown that teams are more likely to come out flat after a short week and a big game than on fire, but anything is possible. I've been right on the Colts so far this year.

While I don't see the Colts giving up on the season and being unmotivated for this game, I do agree that the short week following such a big game does work against them. I've seen it happen to the Pats as well in the past.

So could any of the other DNP's be more serious than we know? Interesting.
If Wayne is out, this game gets a WHOLE lot easier for us.
