they do, or they used to at least, do the same thing with the raiders game. you had to buy at least four games worth of tickets if you wanted to see the raiders game because too many radier fans would come to the game. i dunno if they do that anymore though

1. it was only 1,000 tickets
2. it was not restricted against Pats fans only against people not living in SoCal.
3. Any Pat fan that wants a ticket can easily buy it on stubhub or similiar website.
4. other teams have done it in the past and will continue to do so
5. The Bears are doing it also.
