Obviously not an unknown. Has several qualities coveted by BB, making him a legitimate Pats prospect. Draftscout ranks him #70 overall and projects him in rounds 2-3. Lacking a second-rounder, anyone ranked in that 2-3 range makes them difficult to select, unless we acquire another day one pick.

He's simply one to consider. I like him more as a FS than SS or CB. Although in BB's defense -- versatility is a huge plus.

Very intriguing prospect

Thoughts?

Most people here who haven't sold their souls for a first round Safety have him on their boards based on my reading here.

Well his Cone and Shuttle times are rock solid for the Safetie and below average, but competitive, with the CB. Watching him cover at the Senior Bowl he looked like a Safety not a CB; his hips were just tighter than I am used to for a CB - and, yet, his times aren't too bad.

I guess he fails to excite me.

He is a football player who shows T Brown versatility and makes plays. I would love to see him after the first round.

Pat Kirwin on Sirius says Weddle has a coc*y attitude which showed at the combine and would not be a Patriots type player...His opinion I do respect and value,He is pretty good when it comes to evaluation of a player and where they belong.

Precisely, you want a confident DB who believes he's going to win the next battle. Kirwin naming Patriots' players always puts me in mind of his ganggreen affiliation.

Weddle would obviously be outstanding value, as a FS, at 91; not so outstanding at 28, as long as Griffin is still available.

most of the latest rankings have him as early to mid second rounder. According to ProFW he does have a 'me first' attitude.

I would look fro Gattis or Wendling in the third.

However don't be surprised if the Falcons become our new best friend on draft day. We could trade #28 for #39 and #75 and would need to throw in #91.

I don't know; why trade down 11 spots at the end of the first Round, just to gain 16 spots at the end of the first Day? I would rather trade 28 for a 2nd-rounder this year and next year.

Which team's second rounder? And will that leave enough "points " for a team to give up a second rounder for next year. It nice to say that but the value has to make sense.

How about 24 and 91 to ATL for 39 and 44? Or...
"I'm the GM in our mock for the Falcons. Currently, they have two 2nd round picks (39 + 44), and two 4th round picks (109 + 133). They also have two 2nds next year (theirs and Houstons). Given their needs, I can see if certain players start to slide that they might be willing to do a 44 + a second next year to move up." SamBamsFan, "I Want Out Of 28" thread.
