In a highly unusual move, the New England Patriots have representatives stationed on campus at Rutgers University during this weekend's NFL draft in order to expedite the transition for the many Scarlet Knight players expected to be drafted/signed by the Super Bowl champs. Owner Robert Kraft told reporters this morning, "Because our season was extended into February, we decided we needed to jump start our off-season program and get our farm system pieces into the system as quickly as possible. Coach Belichick and his Harvard Law School interns carefully researched the NFL Off-Season Guidelines and we believe we will be in full compliance with accepted practices. We believe we can get these kids drafted/signed and under contract within 30 minutes of selection and we will have a playbook IPad in their hands as they head back to their dorms for the night."
