Re: Marty Booker to the Pats?

It says possible suitors.

And hes not a bad option to pick up if we cant afford Gaffney.

Re: Marty Booker to the Pats?

"possible suitors". Your thread title needs work

Anyway, right now we only have Welker and likely Moss. Stallworth, Gaffney, Washington, Brown, they're all going ot be FA. It'll be interesting to see what we do. A FA WR who could be interesting depending how they feel about him is Jerry Porter.

Re: Marty Booker to the Pats?

Would rather the same group of Wr from last yr.. Will take Gaffnery over Booker..

Interesting, hadn't thought of him. I'm still keen on seeing what Chad Jackson can do, but that is an interesting thought.

Hence the question mark
Understood but it reads like you'd heard it had happened. Anyway . . .

Somehow Porter averaged 16.0 YPC last year and is still under 30. He has had some personality issues but if the price were right and they were OK with him, he is interesting to me.

He'd be an upgrade over Stallworth, IMO. But I'm not too familiar with the strengths of Porter's game, just his #s, which are impressive.

But we don't just need a deep threat for that #2/3 spot. Chad Jackson projects as a very well rounded wideout, and that's really what we need there - the problem is he's such an unknown at this point. But we need someone who runs routes well, is a smart receiver, still can go deep, still can go over the middle, good YAC, just all around strengths in every regard - which is actually the rep CJ had coming in. I don't know Porter enough to make a judgment in this regard. Stallworth ended up not fulfilling all the things needed in his spot on the depth chart.

I would say we specifically don't need another deep threat as the other starter, that's why Stallworth was losing time in the second half. Another good route runner, another Welker would be great for me.

Re: Marty Booker to the Pats?

Signing Booker assuming Moss stays is the death knell for Chad Jackson.

That should be a good thing. You dont need to have constant change over at the WR position. Its going to affect us at some point.

Re: Marty Booker to the Pats?

I don't understand why they would have interest in Booker?

Re: Marty Booker to the Pats?

if its out in the media then usually pats are not after that player at least 9 out of 10 cases.the job of the media is to tie up players and teams and see where their arrow hits.
rest be assured, after signing thomas and moss last yr any decent player released will be linked to the pats .

Chad Jackson, not Chad Johnson. Booker is a good receiver, certainly as good as Gaffney. That said, I'd rather keep the Gaff. I like Stallworth too, but I think he's gone. As for Chad Jackson, I think the Patriots have all but written him out of their plans.

What makes you think that? I see no evidence of that.
