This is more of a speculation piece in my opinion. I think we are fine with the QBs we have.

I get the spite factor, but once Brady's back Fitz would be cut.

We've already got Garop and Brissett. No way Bill is keeping 4 QBs.

In fact, say he gets cut then signs with the Jets midseason. That only hurts us.

No way, Belichick needs to know what he has in Jimmy G. It was a high investiment and the situation is kind of the best possible for a trial (apart from the injustice that lead to this).

Also, Fitzpatrick is a bum, the likelyhood of a 0-4 improves with him under Center imho.

Brissett goes on IR ... bet on it ... he's too far away based on the system he played in college.
Also would I pay Fitz 6 or 8 million to trade and gain a #1 pick for Grop next year ... yes ... yes I would.

its a pretty smart move for both parties

fitz wants starter money, the patriots want to **** with the jets.

bring fitz in and offer him a prorated contract with huge bonuses if he starts weeks 5-16 but pretty friendly numbers the first four weeks.

he gets to be around the patriots, ride the bench, and make some money, and he gets to shove it in the jets face.

The only thing that makes me think this could happen is that he went to Harvard, so he's intelligent. Since he's intelligent, he would do anything to stay away from the NJjets at any cost.
