Re: The Solder Situation

guess that's why they signed light, this guy will be holding out for a good chunk of the season, maybe the whole season.

Good call.

Re: The Solder Situation

The kid is either an Ahole, which doesn't seem to be the case, or he's getting and listening to some VERY bad advice.

Or he realizes that a guaranteed 8 million is better than a guaranteed 2-4 million when he could walk on a field and his knee get dislocated and he's done with football.

There's a precedent set here he'd be stupid to not try to get as much as he can in his first contract.

Repeat after me: The NFL is a business.

For what it's worth, picks 18 and 19 (Liuget/Amukamara) both signed with partial 4th year guarantees, not full like pick #20. I can't find the final details on the Solder deal but early reports indicate the 4th year is also only partially guaranteed.

So while some wanted the Pats to just cave and guarantee that 4th year, an important precedent has been set for the next 10 years. Maybe it won't matter and Solder will be so great that the 4th year guarantee option won't matter. But it'll make a difference to some team picking in that range over the next 10 years.

Can/Should the Bucs be strung up the the short and curlies for going off message?

As a Man united fan am willing to do it to the Glaziers for free.
