Favourite Ninko pic of all time...

I'll miss you Ninko!!!!!!!!

BB seemed to know it was coming either voluntary or involuntarily.. Ealy, Rivers and Wise not sure they can fill his shoes, but as usual BB has a plan..

Better to walk away on your own terms than be at the mercy of others..

Thank you for everything Nink. You will be missed.

Thanks for everything Nink....a TRUE PATRIOT.....and a great American.....Best in luck in all u do!!!!

In his prime Ninko was a player that played the most snaps of any DL in the league, set the edge with the best of them & recorded 8 sacks a year. So underrated back then. Enjoy retirement.

I can remember more than a few people were calling Ninkovich "Monty Beisel- Part II" after his first training camp and people ragged on him hard that first year.. 8 years later and here we are. Bemoaning the loss of him. He continued the great lineage of the #50 that Vrabel started. That #50 is a big reason the Pats have 5 Rings..

I'm convinced Reiss knew for days.

All good reasons. The key here is he passed his conditioning run and then went home. I'm sure BB and he had a heart to heart and told him he was in a dogfight for a roster spot and Nink told Bill he wasn't sure he had it in him for one more year.

Because of the respect Bill had for Nink, he told him to go home and think about what he wants to do.

Today will will learn what Nink has decided

From what Nink said, it took him a week to stop hurting from the squats he'd done recently. That could have been hyperbole, but I doubt it. I believe that Nink went into camp wanting to see how his body would respond and the conditioning run is what did it for him.

Nink says Mayo was an influence on him and his decision. Mayo another guy now in media.

Hope that he goes into Coaching.. I think he'll be bored in the media.. Though I wouldn't mind him replacing Perillo or Hart..

So Ninko throws McCourty under the bus as he fesses up that they were making jokes during BB's meetings.
McCourty to Cleveland next?

I was hoping that BB would say "I always heard you guys" then chuckle..

Yea the squat comment was really interesting. I wonder if BB asked Nink if he needed more time to get in shape and he'd put him on PUP? That way he'd only play 1/2 the season. I would have assumed Nink thought about it for a second and politely declined.

I'm not sure. He said that Mayo was an influence in his decision, and Mayo seems to be having a good time doing media things for CSNNE. Perhaps he gave Nink a few suggestions on how to best put himself out there. And like others have suggested, I'd love a show with Nink and Matt Chatham.

grande grandissimo # 50

mi mancherai - you will be missed

buona fortuna ! good luck for Yr future !
