The late, great Nate Thurmond was another worthy Celtics rival, right up through 1976 when he led the upstart, best-ever-b4-LJ Cavs to push the Eastern Conference Finals to six games, wearing those awesome cool uniforms. Played big D, like KG.


 
The radio in my brother's & my bedroom could receive, at night, the Cleveland AM station that was broadcasting Cavaliers' games at that time.
We therefore became fans of the Cavs & their HC during those years. Their HC? Bill Fitch.
 
Akeem Abdul Jabbar said Thurmond was the greatest defender he ever faced. Great statement.
