Perry Lefko, of the Toronto Sun, reports the Toronto Argonauts of the <A href="http://www.kffl.com/team/80/nfl">CFL added Miami Dolphins RB Ricky Williams to their negotitation list Wednesday, April 26, a day after he was suspended for the 2006 NFL season for violating the league's substance abuse policy for a fourth time. All CFL teams have 35-player negotiation lists, which allows them to deal exclusively with players, even if they are under suspension.

Would Williams be allowed to play in the CFL this year? I have no idea when the season starts so I don't when that is. My gut tells me he would be eligible because the CFL and NFL are not connected, but if anyone has a definite anser I'd love to know. I might actually watch a game or two to see Bob Marley man freezing his ass off in moose hunting land. I don't think we're in Miami anymore...

Actually, I believe that football in Canada is compliant with World Anti-Doping Agency standards (http://www.wada-ama.org/en/index.ch2) which is not surprising, given that Canada is the host of the WADA (the Canadians seem to have learned some lessons from Ben Johnson). Of course, WADA is concerned with performance-enhancing drugs, not "recreational" ones.
