He coached his players to maim opponents and rewarded them for it. What Williams did earned him an indefinite league suspension from which he had to apply for reinstatement. Calling him a dirty bastard is being kind, he arguably should not still be coaching.

One would imagine with all the stank the Jete naturally emanate they probably didn't even notice his individual malodorousness during the interview process. But this is still football. Anyone who has played in HS or college can tell you, this is an insanely violent game. Kinda sounds like much of the public doesn't realize.

Like you really put on the helmet and step on that field trying to destroy the opponent.

I can't even imagine how violent it gets in the NFL. It's precisely why I love the game.

Watch the Program. 90s college football movie. Our HS coach would have us watch it every game day morning.

Injuring the opponent was a goal celebrated on "film day". Continually replaying the most violent hits from the game the previous weekend.
