The Patriots would have to be crazy to make that trade.

Revis on a reasonable contract is a valuable asset. Revis who's gunning for a north-of-$15M-per contract just isn't worth all that much. Someone is going to end up paying him a whole lot more than he's worth, and the Pats are too smart to be that team.

If we lived in some alternate universe where the Patriots and Jets were willing to work with each other to get a trade done, the Patriots would be looking at it strictly as a one-year rental, since he only makes $6M in 2013. You don't trade two promising young players at positions of need and a first round pick for a one-year rental.
