I expect him to play Sunday night but I wonder what that does to his ability to get around blocks....

Update: he says he broke his hand in practice yesterday. Hmmm.....

FWIW:

Watt was listed on the injury report as limited with groin and hand injuries Wednesday. He did not practice two days last week with the groin injury but played 100 percent of the Texans' defensive snaps against the Buffalo Bills. Watt has never missed a game in the NFL.

I don't care how much of a monster this guy is. With a groin injury, I can't see him launching himself full speed, snap after snap. And with a broken hand no way he can grab as easily.

Is he going to go Cowboy Bob Orton on the Pats now?

A broken hand is an extremely dangerous injury and can cause death. I hope someone on the Texans staff are reading this and sit him for this game, he seems to be a nice guy, I don't wish anything bad for him, no need to risk aggravating this injury. We are talking about a young man's life here.

Any help to our sieve of an offensive line is much appreciated.

Groin and hand injuries ... Hmm ... That might help explain this:

J.J. Watt: I'm trying to find a girlfriend

Maybe.... or it could be that damn heavy Papa John's meatlover's slice that broke his arm....

After all that have happened it couldn't happen to a nicer guy and we need a "break".

That's what you get for chopping all that wood while having someone else narrate for you.

Bill O'Brien wants to keep his spot as first in line to succeed Bill Belichick when the time comes. This is an excellent move. Put Watt on the injured list midweek and downgrade him to out on Saturday.

You're the man, Bill. You are the man.

Texans LE J.J. Watt said he broke his hand at Wednesday's practice.

Not buying it. Think this is just him being him and putting on a show for the cameras, if he goes out and has a good game the media talks about how he did it with a hand he broke 4 days ago and if he does nothing and they lose it's well "Watt had a broken hand".

No doctor is going to put a hard cast on someone's broken hand before the swelling goes down and there is no way in hell it went down in under a day.

Had my hopes up thanks Debby downer.

I agree. At this point it has become very difficult to not second guess stories like that when it comes to Watt.

He has become so in love with the public persona he created that he almost became a caricature of himself with that "cabin in the middle of the woods" thingy over the summer. Overexaggerating a hand injury seems right in his wheel house. In fact. I wouldn't be surprised if at some point during the game "he tears" the cast off his hand to show the entire nation how tough he is. Of course during a close-up shot of him.

J.J. Twat: injured hand
Gronkowski: injured knee

WHO
WILL
PREVAIL?

yeah but is that worth missing a day of practice?

Even if it's legitimate, this isn't a wide receiver who needs his hands to catch the ball, or a less talented lineman who can't afford to play at 100%. I'm sure he plays, I'm sure he plays well, and I'm sure BB isn't seeing this and saying, "Well thank God we don't have to gameplan for HIM anymore!"
