Short time ago we had a thread
- which i can no longer find -
on whether the coaches have made the game too complicated.

In light of this excerpt from BB's pressconf today,
that idea might have legs.

BB: [Buffalo Bills] do a really good job. We’ve seen it before, it’s just a lot to get ready for. They use four receivers and three receivers. A couple of different grouping there on early downs as well as the regular two receiver sets with two tight ends or two backs, however they do it. Then they also mix in some double tight end and two backs or three tight ends and one back. You have a lot of different adjustments to make or if you make a bunch of different calls, which that’s a problem, or you make the same call and you then you have to make a bunch of different adjustments, which that is a problem too. But they run enough of all of that where you definitely have to defend it. It’s not like, ‘They’ve shown it, but we don’t really think they’re going to do it.’ They do it in every game. They run it in every game and make you play it. You have to work on it. It’s hard. It’s time consuming. It takes away from really being able to zero in on one thing and you have to get different groups ready. One group to play the big tight ends and the multiple tight ends and one receiver type of sets and then other groups ready to play the three and four receiver sets. Then you have the regular two receiver sets in there and they go in and out of them. It’s a pain in the neck.

Dunno about you, but i'm not smart enough to study all that ...
and play football too.

BB's comments are hilarious given that the Patriots run exactly the same sets. How did he say it with a straight face?!
