Best of luck Tyrone.

What ever. All of you who wish him the best because of his great "quality character" need to get a grip!
The guy clearly isn't willing to pay his dues, and be loyal to the team who took a chance on him. Instead he tells them I don't want want to be anymore because it's to hard to crack your starting lineup. And yet you still praise the kid! Honestly I don't know if this a Patriot forum, or a player forum with all the **** washing that goes on, with players who are deemed expendable or just flat out don't deserve to be here!
Sorry, but I could care less about the outcome of a player who asks for his release from the greatest franchise in the NFL! It is what it is, and peace out draft bust!
I don't get all this loyalty BS and paying dues and whatnot. If you had the opportunity to go to a competitor for double or triple your current salary, and you'd get a promotion and get to do way more than grunt work, would you stay out of loyalty because maybe they gave you your first job out of college?
The NFL is a business, and this is a football decision. He could stay here 10 years and not start because of our strength and depth at ILB, a surprise considering it was an area of weakness only two years ago. I wish he stayed, but I can't blame him for going where the opportunities and money were better. As for being a bust, way too early to consider anyone from the 2009 draft that.
He was a 3rd rounder in 2009.
That's BillB's strategy. Many picks and be happy with 1 or 2 good-ones from the lot..
It is a business. And I don't hate the guy. But I sure as heck ain't gonna root for him "cause he is a good guy" if he ain't on the Patriots (or unless he is playing against the Jets or other team I want to see lose).
I was just discussing the Tyrone McKenzie signing with a mutual friend, and there's actually a lot more to it than is reported.
According to my friend, who is also friends with McKenzie, he asked for a release from the practice squad to pursue other opportunities, and that he has wanted to be a Buccaneer since he started playing football. I'm not sure if he's not allowed to talk about it or not, but I get the feeling from the conversation that he actually had his agent call the Bucs to see if they had room for him.
I really hope this kid lives up to potential. I loved watching him @ USF, and if he can develop, yah... not going to get my hopes up too high, but you get what I'm saying...
Yeah, the report out of New England said he asked for his release from their PS.
I was having trouble understanding PR's report, as a player can't be picked off another teams' PS without going on the new team's ACTIVE 53-man roster. IOW, he can't go directly to his new teams' PS. So this makes sense...
I hope his knee is 100%. This could be one of the many steals from another teams Practice Squad. LOL!
I admire my fellow Patriot fans for wishing the kid well, but I'm with GreyHoodie, and then some: We invested a very valuable Draft Pick in the kid, and have invested an additional 1.5 years in him, paying him well, while he healed and recuperated...And now that he's ready to contribute, he's unwilling to wait an half year (or less, if there's an injury) to start earning his @#$%&ing KEEP??
He could've been an extremely valuable part of the MidFielder Rotation, for the next few years or more.
And he sure as hell owed us that much, in return for carrying his @$$ for the last couple years. It's not his fault he got injured, but why in the name of God should we bear 100% of the loss, pay him extremely well, and then have him whine his way out of town, before he contributes a PENNY of production in return??
And what happens to our MidFielder Depth if Spikes or Mayo gets hurt??
No offense to you guys who wish him well. But I say: To HELL with'm.
