Red Throwbacks To Return (Hopefully) 2023 at the earliest

he looks good in red

The red? Sure. But that 50 number isn’t helping him

it wouldnt look right.

if you are going to do it, do it right.
You’re right, but it would at least be a compromise. We’ll be lucky to see it once a year starting in 2022. Before the bizarre helmet rule, we barely saw it during the run of dominance for 20 years. Why would he want to do it now?

Fantastic too to see some other returns like Bucco Bruce on Tampa...Oilers...kelly green Philadelphia...
But pat patriot is the excellence
It’s funny how the Bucco Bruce was a laughable/arguably the ugliest uniform during its time. Now people have wanted it back when it’s gone.

The Titans sperm logo needs to go.

Kelly green needs to return.

Jets and Dolphins need to go back to their 90s uniforms. I’d argue the Bills as well.

Falcons need to go back to the 80’s-90’s uniforms.

Saying I disagree with Kraft's entire ownership regarding uniforms is like saying I disagree with abstinence as the only form of birth control.

Growing up in the 70's of course I love the old Uni's. I also love the late 90's and 2000's uni's. I don't like how the recent garbage looks like the Texans uniforms. I've always felt the Pats should say FU to the NYFL and wear the 70's red uni's instead of color rush puke.

I don't like how the recent garbage looks like the Texans uniforms.
Which is funny because the Texans blatantly ripped off the Patriots uniforms in 2002.

And what made Kraft think their current uniforms were popular amongst fans? They are certainly in the conversation as one of the ugliest in the NFL. Replacing the blue pants for the silver would do wonders for the current home jersey.

I’ve never understood why they can’t just slap full vinyl covers on helmets the day before game day. The rule where the player has to use the same helmet for practice and games is what caused us not to be able to have the alternative helmets any longer. Not being able to paint a helmet in one day is understandable, but the technology for vinyl wrapping things has come tenfold over the last 10 years. 52 helmets could easily be done in just a few hours with a small team.

Providing that the equipment follows all mandated safety protocols.. why the big deal about this??

It would seem in the multi billion dollar franchises that Owners/GM's/Coaches could make these decisions on a local level rather than from a league wide level.. to many layers of NFL bureaucracy for such simple decisions.

You think the league would be amenable to the red 2021 concept...among hard-core jersey collectors and whatnot, it would mean increased revenue for the NFL.

Aside from the Pats home reds, some of the looks I prefer :

Man, it's really not the dry times of the offseason until we're posting in a jersey thread, is it?
no chit, right? 7/29 can't get here soon enough.

6 playoffs in 33 years with Red. I like the look of Pat (especially with the memory of 59-0), but Elvis has had way more success and is a winner. The "doldrums" of 2009-2012 with the throwbacks (for a few games) where we couldn't get over the hump is consistent with the losing that we saw before 1993. Heck, even the lone throwback game in 2002 was enough to sabotage us, Pennington style.

In all seriousness, though - man do I dislike color rush uniforms.

This has always confused me.

How was it unsafe to have 2 helmets of the same make, model, and size, but with a different paint job?
I think the concern is that each helmet is professionally tailor-fitted to the player, during training camp. Without getting the fitting, two helmets even with the same make, model, and size will not fit equally well.

So the question shifts to the point as to why it was so hard to arrange for each player to be fitted with more than one helmet during one sitting? I assume that helmets break, so they probably already were getting 2-3 of them fitted at once anyway.
