yup, he is supposed to announce on Monday...he will also start the year in AA Portland.

This will help attendance in Portland and Pawtucket for sure. He will be signing a 3-year contract which should cover about 1/2 of his minor league play. The Red Sox are great at grooming pitchers and he made a wise choice as he won't be rushed to the pro's just to fill some seats.

He is being paid a 3 year major league contract, and he should be a great #4 or #5 starter or a solid middle relief guy. Great signing by Sox! It's the little adjustments like this that will give the team some strength back.
