The throw wasn’t ideal, but your job is to clear before you throw. As for backing up second that was tough as you couldn’t see the ball.

your job as a first baseman is to make a good throw for the catcher to handle to turn the double play. the job of the second baseman is to back up the first baseman. if pierce makes a good throw. Vasquez has time to clear. he had to leave his feet to catch the f--king thing. the play started with pierce.
