Realistic Additions to Defense

We all know BB is a great coach. Some of his personnel moves are baffling. We lost Spikes and Fletcher in free-agency. Signed nobody of substance to replace them. Then didn't draft any either. We came into this season with 3 NFL linebackers. We're going to pay for that over-sight.

It's unfortunate that James Anderson did not work out, as he was the potential 4th option. My guess is that they figured that Ninkovich could move back to OLB in a pinch as well.

Even after Mayo went down last year, Fletcher wound up getting 18.1% of the defensive snaps... Spikes had 59.7% but he was a liability in any passing situation...

At the end of the year Spikes had 48 tackles and 38 assists, while Fletcher had 15/11.. doubt either one would have a significant impact on this team..

Fletcher was a nice situational player, but he moved on to bigger promises in Tampa... he plays a reserve role there....

Spikes has been up and down in Buffalo, early on he did not get many snaps.. but recently he has gotten more..

I questioned why James Anderson was let go.. he may have been helpful.

If Vilma were a possibility, how long would it take for him to get into game shape and pick up this defense??...
