My father was rummaging through some old files tonight and called me to let me know that he found something quite interesting - - an original stock certificate from 1960 for 5 shares of the Boston Patriots.
It seems that Billy Sullivan took on a minority partner - - the public - - when floating the original Patriots and offered shares at $5 a pop. My dad bought 5 shares and, as part of the package, received a free box of cigars with the Patriot logo (he doesn't have that anymore ).
Does anyone know if this has any significance as a keepsake? I know the stock is financially worthless as Billy had bought out the public shareholders sometime in the mid-70's, but I told him he should frame it as kind of a neat keepsake.
