These '72 Dolphins has beens epitomize bad sportsmanship. Most later day champs when their records are eclipsed accept the event graciously, but no, not the '72 Dolphins who gleefully pop the champaign cork every season that a winning team finally loses.

I have no problem with the whole champagne thing. It's their record, let them do whatever the hell they want. Sure, it violates unwritten rules, etc etc etc, but do we, as Pats fans, really have a leg to stand on when it comes to criticizing people of violating those?

Honestly, I couldn't have cared less about the '72 Dolphins until Shula smeared the Pats.

I don't agree with the tone of the article. This is the NFL, not the Mother Theresa Girl Scouts of compassion and grace. They earned it; they can celebrate it any time they want. Aren't we tired of people demanding that the Pats win with grace and generosity? Let's not pull the same stunt on guys who are still competitive, still on top, and still wanting to stay on top. They earned it.

Don Shula is another matter entirely. Get the freaking snow plow out. I'll ride the damn thing to Florida myself just to see that bastard's face when I ruin his lawn with it.
