Pundit mock drafts 2027 [with FAILs]

I just watched the NFLSE guys review their first ever mock draft of the last cycle. They got 16 first rounders right, so exactly 50%. They had some top 50 guys in there too. Excluding prospects that didn't declare, their biggest misses were Garrett Nussmeier, Isaiah World, LT Overton, Connor Lew and Kamari Ramsey.

That's pretty good. 2026 wasn't easy to predict.

I think it's relatively easy to predict 50% of 2027:

QB Arch Manning
QB Dante Moore
WR Jeremiah Smith
WR Cam C0oleman
TE Jamari Johnson
OT Jordan Seaton
OT Trevor Goosby
EDGE Colin Simmons
EDGE Dylan Stewart
DT David Stone
DT A'Mauri Washington
CB Leonard Moore
CB Ellis Robinson IV

That's 13 guys who I think will be locks, and who are highly likely to declare.

Hit on 3 of the following and you are at 50%:

Any of the other potential top QBs
WRs Charlie Becker and Nick Marsh
OLs Carter Smith and Austin Siereveld
DTs Ahmad Moten and Will Echoles
LBs Sammy Brown and Kyngstonn Viliamu-asa
S KJ Bolden and Tae Johnson

I'd take 1 of them.

There are a lot of head scratchers in that mock. A ton of reaches, proje lions, and bad teams matches.

Sayre Bedinger mock:

He has QBs going first 4 picks, 5 in the top 7, 6 in the top 10, 7 top 20. He has Jeremiah Smith falling to 6, Leonard Moore to 9.

He also has the Pats taking Boubacar Traore at 24. I love Traore, but this is pure projection right now.

No Will Echoles, among others.

29. New England Patriots – Cayden Green, G/T, Missouri
Three straight years of first-round offensive linemen? Maybe it's a stretch for New England, but don't rule it out with right guard Mike Onwenu approaching free agency. Green would be the latest collegiate left tackle to join the effort to safeguard Drake Maye, but the 6-5, 324-pounder's best fit at the next level is likely on the interior.

3 round mock by Ian Cummings:

For the Pats he has:

25. Sammy Brown, LB, Clemson
57. Peter Clarke, TE, Temple
89. Bryce Thornton, S, Florida St.

Other picks of note:

4. Justin Scott, DT (!!!)
9. Carter Smith
12. Tae Johnson
20. Jamari Johnson
21. Jordan Seaton
23. Ellis Robinson
24. Charlie Becker
26. Kade Pieper
34. Will Echoles
37. Jacarrius Peak
41. Yhonzae Pierre
43. Jelani McDonald
44. PJ Williams
54. Nick Marsh
56. Ashton Hampton
60. Trey'Dez Green
78. Kyngstonn Viliamu-asa
80. Kelley Jones
82. Ray Coney
93. Zach Lutner
94. Greg Johnson

No Chris Cole or Demello Jones.

Love the Sammy Brown pick. Would love to pair him with Chris Cole or KVA (trade up).

I like Peter Clarke, but Trey'Dez Green hard to pass up.

I haven't studied Bryce Thornton. 5'10" not my ideal. Zach Lutner and Ty Benefield available.

Good effort overall this early.

Re Peter Clarke vs. Trey'Dez Green:

I value a true Y-TE over any other offensive weapon, and it is possible Peter Clarke turns in to such a weapon; but based on existing sample size, it would be hard for me at this time to pick him over Trey'Dez Green, who is a Jimmy Graham-like mismatch and red zone weapon.

That could easily change by next April. But not just yet.

Just posted a Bengals & Brews tweet in the watch list thread inspired by this mock. I wouldn't take Temple over Trey'Dez either.

I take Rob Gronkowski over Jimmy Graham any say.

The only problem is, I think Trey'Dez Green can actually be another Jimmy Graham. No one has reached Gronk heights.
