Apparently it was everybody in the Patriots newspaper, Patriots Football Weekly, all picking Miami to win which created the whole "us against the world" mentality the team seemed to use as motivation.
I tweeted Fred Kirsch (@meDNA) after the game saying the paper should pick against the Pats every week and this was his response:
