Are we taking into account the opponent? Detroit hasn't had a double digit win season since 2014. They're well on their way to their 5th straight last place finish in their division. Their head coach is Dan Campbell. Statistically the worst defense in the in the NFL, can't stop anything, run or pass. Harris and Stevenson should eat them alive. Zappe's priority will be don't screw it up. Goff is probably having nightmares of SB 53. Please give me a reason why Detroit will win this game... I can't think of one.

Our QBs suck...?

Boy I miss Big Bruce he made those lean years palatable he was a very good player not many DE's got by him.

All things considered, he's perhaps the best LT in Pats history... Too bad he didn't stick around one more season; for all those great years he had given us, Bruce Armstrong (what a great name too!) deserved to have a ring...

Yep; BoneyT's legs make Shawn Crable's look like Schwarzenegger"s from the Twins movie in comparison.

Didn't realize that recovering from a shoulder injury precluded one from working on thighs & calves...
What does it matter if he has skinny legs? Do you point that out because you think he’s not strong? Or do you point it out because you think it makes him injury prone?

Pickens missed a lot more games with injuries than Thornton in college but he’s who the anti Thornton people wanted at that pick.

As to them being an indication he’s not strong.

It looks like it will be Zappe again, unless Mac can miraculously heal by Sunday:

Nooooooo!

Alright still would have preferred the George Pickens pick though I think he's going to be the better Pro.

Pats SHOULD win this game by just over one score, however...
Rook QB could focus on one half the field missing a wide open receiver resulting on 4th and long instead of a score.
A Patriot WR could fumble the ball away after a long gainer. I know. Never happen, right?
A Patriot RB or RT could whiff on a block and cause a QB fumble turnover or God help us the accursed, a QB injury.
Refs could turn a blind eye to an egregious Lions penalty, killing our scoring drive.
Similarly, refs could rule a touch football level QB sack by Judon et. al. as RTP giving the opponent a scoring drive.

Possibilities are infinite.

Let's see what Zappe can do, honestly I'm kinda looking forward to it. Hoyer is just uninspiring, at least we can see what the kid can do for a little while

They have already won a game this year, played Philly the closest to any team they have played so far and in the league now, everyone is so evenly matched that a bounce of the ball here or there, a turnover here or there is the difference between a win or a loss. Not sure if you watch every Pat game, but just look at this year's games. We could easily be 4-0, but we're 1-3....so close, but yet so far.
You didn’t watch football in the 90s but a famous coach once said “you are what your record says you are”

That’s completely fair. I just am not here for “Thornton sucks because he has skinny legs”, unless someone can point out why him having skinny legs hurts him. I think it’s way more reasonable to like Pickens more because he runs better routes or is better at contested catches but the skinny legs thing is bs imo.
I think the Lions will play Ten in Box Running won't be easy I would make Zappe beat me if I was the Lions HC.

I didn’t watch the Lions game last week but I thought I heard/read that the Lions blitzed all game and that didn’t stop Penny from going off on the ground against them. The downside of stacking the box is if the offense can get past the second level it’s likely a long td.

Nick, you are right my friend. My dad always says that as well. lol

Hopefully, some of the breaks that have gone against us will start going our way. I want to get on that train like we were on last year...winning 7 in a row....do you remember that? Great feeling, let's start this week Nick, are you ready?

Your dad is a smart guy.

I do remember that and it’s a great feeling. The quarterback is the most important position on the field. If you have a good one, you should feel confident you can win. With Mac last year, we felt confident. Do you feel confident with Ahoyyyy and Frappe?

He's brittle.

lol, I would feel much more confident if we definitely had Mac this week. Hoyer is out, just put on IR, Zappe is going to be a work in progress. He's not quite ready for prime time yet. I liked his poise last week, but on a 3rd and 5 or 3rd and 8, it's going to be very challenging for him to get that first down. We saw it in OT, couldn't make that throw. Now Detroit's defense isn't as good as GB, but he pocket awareness isn't where it needs to be either. Some qb's it takes years and it's going to be his 2nd game. We shall see!!!!

Sorry not sorry, but the hit that took him out did Not look that bad... and on natural grass, no less.
