The next two games for the Patriots are must wins because their opponents aren't good and they cannot lose to another bad team (especially at home) or their season is over. They have 3 for sure losses on their schedule (@MIN, BUF & @BUF) so if they're going to finish with at least a winning record then they have to go 5-1 in the remaining games. Which means they have to beat all of the subpar teams (IND, NYJ, @ARI & @LVR) and beat either CIN or MIA.

Indianapolis is not a good team. They've managed to kill off another quarterback and now they're stuck with Sam Ehlinger. Their running game has been in the toilet all season. Their defense is decent but vulnerable against the run so that plays into the Patriots strength. Patriots should win and cover the -5.5 spread... 23-16.
Kyler Murray and Arizona says hello he's not on IR yet.

Facts! 12 was able to do it with system guys a majority of his career. We all see what happened on 07 with NFL records being made! When we drafted gronk/hernandez our offensive efficiency went to another level teams had to defend the whole field!

What's been striking to me is the TE has seemingly been phased out the offense.. I mean how much better would Mac be, and the offense as a whole if Henry was more involved, I've given up on janu Smith Though. Myers seems like he can get open against anyone.. his game reminds me of Hines ward, he gets open against anyone.
Edelman is not system. Amendola is not system . Gronk is not system .

Hogan had 2 fab years . Mitchell before injury was phenomenal. So we actually had a great receiving core with great third down back in white , woodhead and burkhead. So we really had good talent for majority of Brady's prime with moss and welker providing spark in initial years after the 2004 period.

Meyers is a good player in Edelman mould. We would be stupid to let him go. He will produce 800-1000 yards averaging 4-7 TD a year for any organization. You want those dependable guys.

Is it fall break in New England this weekend? Tickets are not selling. Basically face value. Where are the fans?

Not sure what EPA is but Mac is tied for last....

The Patriots secured a much-needed win over the Jets on Sunday, but the offense remains hamstrung by poor quarterback play from Mac Jones. Only two starting quarterbacks have a negative EPA per attempt average on throws at or beyond the first down marker in 2022: Jones and rookie Kenny Pickett. Jones also ranks 28th in EPA per dropback (-0.28) on second, third, and fourth downs with 7 or more yards to go before the first. The winning formula for New England right now is to force turnovers on defense and find success running the football with Rhamondre Stevenson and Damien Harris. That might be enough to clinch a postseason berth but leave them as heavy underdogs against AFC powerhouses like the Bills and Chiefs.

They ain't franchising him so I'm thinking gone. I think he's going to highest bidder he's not great but solid complimentary receiver.

I can't believe how frustrated I'd be if I was Bourne. That many snaps @Jets and 1 target!?!
That's truly unacceptable. I'd say it about Thornton too, but he's a rookie.
Worst part is, Bourne is getting open a lot. I really hope Mac can open things up this week and spread it around to more than just Meyers or Rham.
A #1 receiver can do wonders for a QB though. Look at Joe Burrow last night without jamaar chase. He looked average.

Look at Tua this year with waddle/Hill vs the rest of his career. He suddenly looks "elite" is it a coincidence it's when he has receivers that are always open?

Heck even look at Brady with Moss vs 2006. He reached otherworldly levels. So this idea that you don't need elite talent doesn't really check out with me.

It stems on this board from the Patriots never getting that sort of receiver. But it kind of neglects that Gronkowski was that guy even though he was a tight end and not a receiver.
Davantae Adams is OBVIOUSLY A #1 WR, top 3 in the NFL.
HOW'S HE making out without that Rodgers BackYard ball/ Broken play?

Just asking....Rodgers wants to know as well.

Good morning everyone, getting you ready for a Wednesday....the injury report that comes out later today will be very interesting!!!

Week 9 NFL Power Rankings: 6-1 Vikings Hold Steady in Our Top Five

At the beginning of the year, we all thought the NFC sucked and that the only good teams were the Rams and Bucs. Now the Rams and Bucs suck, and teams like the Eagles, Giants, Vikings, Seahawks, Niners, and Cowboys are all really good - maybe not as good as Buffalo or KC, but those teams could probably compete with any AFC team at this point.

We also thought the AFC West was going to be the best division in football. We never really know until the games start.

The Pats have a big pile of money to spend and if we don't re-sign Meyers, we're looking for another WR like him that can be Mac's safety valve. I bet they'll be competitive in their offer and we'll just have to see. I put it at 50-50 that they re-sign him.
