Personally I think that we are all overestimating how desirable our fringe roster guys are among other teams. Relative to Munson or most certainly Meyers I don't think Izzo has really shown a lot to be a coveted player. Is it possible someone picks him up ? Sure. Has he popped for it to be a foregone conclusion ? eh no.

Jets are looking for CBs. I would presume any CB cut by the Pats will be claimed by them

If they even get that far. The Cardinals will be without both starters for 6 weeks, so they might be putting in claims for CBs at the very top of the waiver order.

The Patriots invested in Froholdt and Cajuste. Froholdt will be on the roster in all likelihood because I've not heard anything that said that he sucks and was a bad pick.. On the contrary. I've heard he's been good considering the limited experience he has. He still has a long way to go, but that was expected.

Cajuste will remain on the NFI until he ready.

Croston can play both tackle and guard. He's not great, but he's been in the system for 3 years.

None of these players are potential tight ends for game 1, which was what the conversation was about.

Could you cite when the Pats have ever gone with just 7 OL? Thanks..

They've have gone short and long positions at initial cutdown regularly during BB.

They cut Brandon Bolden last year to open a spot. In fact two years in a row. Is that less radical?

If Bill doesn't like the backups, thinks they will go through waivers, and plans to only dress 7 OL for game one, why not?

Last year they kept just 7 OL after cut downs, though they brought back Schwenke later that week (after one of their waiver claims failed a physical). A similar approach this year wouldn't surprise me, but I would expect them to add an 8th OL shortly afterwards.

Say what you will, there won't be a trade with Colts. How about a BB quote.
