I have included the players, FOR THE PATRIOTS, that could possibly be starters in their environement and where they would be picked by round. In this draft:

1) Bobby Carpenter LOLB, Chad Greenway SILB
2) Maurice Drew 3down RB, starting Punt Returner (KF understudy clone)
3) Mike Hass #2 WR; possesion receiver, par excellance. Givens repalcement
The most ready WR in the draft.
3) Oliver Hoyte WILB; TJ replacement, future playcaller and inside rotation ILB
4) Bernie Pollard SS, a revelation as he plays while waiting Harrison's return
4) Charlie Whitehurst QB; a future starter somewhere if not in Foxboro
The first guy not to start in rookie year, baring catastrophe....

5) Jeremy Bloom Punt Returner; if we don't get Drew. Starter as PR specialist

Its highly unlikely that any of these following guys could start as rooks, but there are possible future starters here.

6) Anthony Schlegal WILB, TJ rotation guy on 1st, 2nd & goaline . He has nothing but size, attitude, competitiveness, instincts and Brainpower. Can set the defense with play calling, someday.
6) Pick a kicker
6) Chris Cocong OLB/DE conversion prospect someday starter but not for a couple years.
7) BPA

My pick is...

your #7.

No LB in first round, tired of seeing the same people. Maurice Drew in the 2nd round? No Way!

Poooor little laddy

Expect the unexpected.

Mankins,
Johnson,
Branch,
Watson
were all pretty unexpected.

Even Seymour to an extent.

They will probably pick someone that nobody here even mentioned.

Not to mention a few years back, a man named Brady.

I'll laugh my ass off if the Pats take someone basicly off everyones radar screens. They have a knack for going somewhere no one could have predicted.

Yeah, they're going to trade up for Jay Cutler.
