Poor Indianapolis can never catch a break

Why are you making fun of the Colts when our team was just embarrassed by the crappiest team in the league with a rookie head coach? No wonder the rest of the league can't stand us.

Kid, if you are going to troll, you need to learn some subtlety. This was waaaay too obvious. Still, you can come back next week--practice on another site for a few days to get some rhythm going.

Last week against the Vikings, the Colts db malled a receiver late in the game to end the drive and a subsequent win for the Colts. What comes around goes around.

It was Bobby Wade, the guy who ended Rodney's season when he was a Titan who got bearhugged without flag.......

I am enjoying the season and appreciating the games more. Miami played better, plain and simple. Brady's not there, the stress of doing well every week is gone. It's just funny that the Colts can't take advantage of Brady not being there. Can you gift wrap a Super Bowl any better? This has to be driving Indy fans nuts. Indy has been a damn good team for so long, almost as good as us without the jewelry. It's like the Bulls missing Jordan for a year in the 90s, and gift wrapping the Knicks a championship.

Seriously, I think mr. 8 posts needs to go back to the Colts or Jets board. Nice try though.

Whenever the Pats are having a better season than the Colts I am happy even if both teams aren't playing well. It is just a little satisfying to know the Colts are playing worse than the Patriots.

I am sure on the Colts boards around the country they are making fun of the Pats.

BTW, who knows if the Dolphins are the worst team in the league? They definitely aren't worse than the Chiefs or Rams. Who knows, this could be the first of a five or six game win streak for them. I personally thought before the season that they could be a surprise team this year in that they could win seven games. Maybe they proved me right.

Fair enough, but wouldn't you agree that Moss has already quit? Not even lifting his arms on the 3rd down pass? As a Patriots fan, that has to infuriate you.

Last week the Pats went into a hostile environment and beat the Jets, who they were predicted to lose against.

On Sunday, they fell flat and we're beaten by the Dolphins, a team they were predicted to win against.

Such is the up and down, roller coaster ride of the NFL.

Making fun of the Colts, however, is independant of any Pats peformances and one of the true constants of rival fan bases.

We get no sympathy from the haters, might as well laugh at them when the opportunity arises.

Hope that helps.

It was PI. The only odd thing about it was I don't know if the LB actually knew the receiver was coming his way. But know it or not, he stepped right into his path and made huge contact with him.

You are right. If you impede a receiver's break on a ball whether you do it intentionally or not, it is a PI. You can't set a pick in football.

"Can't catch a break?" I'm not sure we're watching the same team. They got outplayed brutally by Chicago, outplayed by Minnesota until MIN decided to stop playing midway through the third quarter, and seemed to get beat up by Jax until a last minute drive. I don't think they are unlucky...I just think this year they aren't that good.

Who gives s rats a^& about the Colts! We have our own problems.
I feel for the Lions and Browns fans who never sniff a winning team.

well..iam more pissed about our situation than feeling happy for the colts. and lets face it- they have the QB to fix themselves. we have an unknown yet. yes their defense sucks but it sucked in the SB yr also and down the stretch it became adequate.

The way Manning is getting hammered, he will soon join Brady on the IR.

Bill Polian complained loud and hard after the loss in the playoffs to the Patriots for stricter enforcement of such penalties. Now that it comes back to bite him, I am all smiles.

I agree with carolinatony. We got exposed at virtually every position, and these poeple are talking about a team in another division. Seriously, who can we say is going to be the anchor to right this ship? Welker? Mayo? It's definitely not the Pro Bowl LBs who've gotten really old really quickly. It's definitely not the secondary. It's definitely not alligator arms. A nonexistent running game, and a passing game that certainly is not where it was last year. Belichick needs to be magical with this bye week, and we know he can be.

I agree with the tongue in cheek nature of the title, and find it humorous.
If the Pats can't pull a Ravens/Bucs type season out of their arses, I just hope to not have to endure another Manning celebration come February. I'd rather withstand a media barrage of RomeOwens than deal with the schleps who follow the Mannings.

Well, you are talking about one game. As far as I am concerned, the defensive woes were an abboration until this team proves otherwise. Cassel should get better in the offense as he gets his timing down and gets a rhythm with the receivers. The Pats run the ball pretty well in the first game. They were without Maroney and with a less than 100% Jordan against Miami.

Way to draw conclusions about the team based on one game.

There have only been 3 games from which to draw conclusions, and you will have to agree that the players' performance has declined in each. I watched every one of our games last year, and as perfect as we were, you could see that the OL was living on reputation and the LB was fading as a unit. Losing Samuel from the secondary is what it is. It just makes me appreciate what Tom really did for us; how good he made us. Don't get me wrong, I still think we're a 9 win team, but BB has to get their heads right. I'd have to say it looks like Moss has already quit. I want to see who's got some fight. You can't discount how mentally and emotionally grueling last year was with the pressure of trying to go undefeated. It's going to be interesting to see who's mentally tough enough to go into this bye and come out on the other side ready to succeed. I'm excited by this challenge, but it's on BB right now.

Excuse me, there are plenty of threads in this forum to talk about the Patriots/Dolphins game. If you want to talk about that game, then go to the appropriate thread and leave this one alone. This thread is about the Colts, an historical rival of the Patriots.

I don't really see how the defensive woes are an aberration. We shut down KC, which it seems anyone can do. We shut down the Jets, again it seems anyone can do that.... for that matter they can do it to themselves. We got white-washed by the Dolphins.

Ronnie Brown ran over some of our guys. I only saw some of the highlights since i don't live in NE, but I got to see quite a bit of stiff legged Patriot defenders in those highlights. Not to mention some DBs who lunged down low and got trampled. Matt Cassel has no effect on any of that.

The running game is probably stinking because our o-line stinks. Running the ball isn't about talent so much as it is about toughness. Some teams do it with size & swagger like Minnesota & Dallas, while teams like Denver do it with technique.

We're not doing it with anything, and it goes back to last year. The o-line is playing soft.
