    Rodgers (future HoF) threw less.

    Not that simple.

Tom also made the big plays to win games and was never afraid to thread the needle when it mattered most.

20 years bro... I look at it differently than you. and polls are interesting because it defines this board. I.e. the best patriots board.

Only 10 items .. but also missing was "chip on the shoulder from being picked 199..."

I almost did that one but it falls under decision making. IMO.

I was about to add a laugh emoji. Then I remembered that Belichick guided a Matt Cassell led team to 11-5, including 6-2 down the stretch.

With halfway decent quarterbacking, Belichick can put the Patriots in a position to win. The question now is whether Brady can succeed in a new environment and prove he was at least as relevant to Patriot success as Belichick.

Deflating footballs and taping the Bengals. And the “system” that lets him throw 2 yard passes. Everyone knows that!

"Clutch ability under pressure" and "Never give up, competitiveness" which are the same thing.... heart.

That's it. He's very good at a lot of things, but he's never been the best at anything except that.

When the game is on the line, some guys deliver, and some guys choke.

This is also why he can never be replaced by some guy with a prettier throw, faster scramble, quicker trigger, bigger arm, better mechanics etc etc. None of them have Brady's heart.

Steve Mariucci "We didn't open up his chest and look at his heart. Nobody did".

    Fck Kraft.

    Here you go ...

Playing QB is a barter system. It's a give and take. And Brady was simply the best.

If you try to force the ball. Can't read and decipher a defense you'll throw a lot of INTS.

If you hold onto the ball too long. Can't maneuver or feel a pocket. You'll have high sack #'s.

If you don't push the ball down the field, your ypa and TDs will suffer.

Brady was great at the give and take in playing the QB position.

Besides that his toughness, leadership & work ethic are the top reasons why he was great.

    His ability pre/post.

    Then it's his footwork.

Then arm talent (accuracy, touch & placement)

He had too many areas covered to chose one. The 28-3 come back kind of ended any questions

Competitiveness, ability in the clutch, preparation, good decision making.

Honestly all of the above. Brady is the GOAT for many reasons.

"Throwing mechanics, release" option should include accuracy.

I think his leadership is underrepresented in the poll results. I know we all know that he's a great leader. I think he's a fantastic leader and that this is one of the defining characteristics of these 2 decades of Patriots teams. People believe in TB because he believes in himself and he believes in them. Even the opponents on the other sideline believe in him and I think that has as much to do with his leadership as with his proven results over the years.

Tough to only choose 3 as Brady had all of those and I think at one time or another each of them put him over the top. I voted for consistency, film work, and leadership with intelligence and clutch getting strong Honorable mentions and being the tough not to vote for options.

To me the most amazing part of TFB is how good he was year in and year out. You look at the players top 100 and while he wasn't #1 every year he was top 5 more then anyone including the "physical GOAT" saint Aaron who would be number #1 or just top 20 with wildly swinging years. Same with Brees or any other flavor of the year QB. Brady is the only one who was year in and year out GREAT.

Brady was never the guy with the best arm, or the fastest legs, or wowed you as an athlete in any way. What he did to make up for that is he knew what was coming and saw what everyone was doing better then anyone. Intelligence, film work, memory, work ethic....whatever you want to call it hearing Bill say we would ask him why he made a decision and Brady would rattle off 3 things guys did and going back to the film all 3 things happened. That miami defensive lineman who marvelled at none of their blitzes getting home cuz Brady called every protection exactly right. All of those things are rare and untestable which sets Brady apart in why he fell so far but ended up being so good.

Leadership isn't just yelling at people and forcing them to do things your way. As great and Elite as Brady is no one can win the ultimate team game by themselves. That leadership currently only has 11 votes is IMO a massive disservice to all of the team mates that helped Brady achieve everything he has done. Getting the most out of people, making them want to run thru a brick wall for you, having them believe in themselves and you no matter how bleak the outcome looks. Those things define Brady to me. After a win hearing the whole team going around saying I love you man...no other team have I heard that from and it starts with Brady. Harrison coming from the Steelers with the mindset I hate pretty boy QBs and F Brady he cant be that guy we see in the media and now I am gonna see what really goes on over there and how they REALLY stopped us from going to so many SBs. To now, "Tom Brady is just a really nice genuine dude and a great teammate." There is no better comment to Tom's character and leadership then making an enemy love him.

Chiming in in what others have already said, but I want to say it, too!

Brady has an uncanny ability to make the right decision, which is compounded by his willingness to try an abundance of game plans to beat any given opponent.

Aaron Rodgers might be better on the move, Mahomes might be better at throwing across his body, and Peyton might have had been great at facilitating passing attacks - but Brady can do all of these things to a masterful degree. On top of that, he can do everything those QB's can't, or don't feel comfortable doing, to a masterful degree.

Unparalleled is both his poise and his decisiveness. It's not just displayed in his ability to read defenses, either. Time and time again we saw a QB who knew when to get rid of the ball, who knew how to take a hit and not get injured, who knew when it was really necessary to put his receiver in one of those "over the middle, out to dry" throws that would invariably lead to them getting rocked. He took chances at the most appropriate times, never looking to pad stats. If there was a safer option, or a better option in general, he'd take it.

His ball placement is also astonishing. He could throw it perfectly to a guy like Welker, playing to his small height, placing the ball a touch forward, but also pretty low to put it only where he can get it. He was constantly evaluating how he can adjust his passes to squeeze a few more yards out of a completion. His thought never stopped at the completion itself, but the opportunity for gain after such as well. He can put it perfectly in the basket for those large, tall burners. He had a risk assessment for every single pass, and did everything he could to maximize the return while managing chance for a turnover.

Lastly, and while it's regurgitated over and over again, it really can't be overstated how ****ing good he is under pressure. Even the greats, the top of the line QB's - the literal all-time greats of our sport in this position - had demonstrable tendencies to under perform and get flustered under pressure. It is a universal trait to I'd say 99% of humans. Brady seemed to excel with it, and continually at that. It wasn't just one season, it wasn't just one Superbowl. It was every Superbowl, it was every season.

Dude is a beast. And it still hasn't sunk in that he isn't a Patriot. I love defense, more than offense. But you'll never catch me thinking there's a more important player than Brady. Ever.

His arm has been so, so underrated by everyone who hasn't actually been watching every one of his games for the pats two decades -- mostly because it doesn't jive with a certain mainstream narrative.
