Of course not. If Terry Glenn didn't get one in 2001, and he was still technically a member of the team, why would Moss when he's been gone since the first month of the season?

If the Pats win the superbowl, will Randy get a ring?

I'm not predicting a superbowl win here, I'm just asking. If they do win it all, will Randy get a ring , like Nomar did for the Sox? He did play 25% of the season after all.

He Doesn't Deserve on but i think he would get one

Sorry. I didn't see the poll.

I voted, depends, but it should be depending on how big a game he has against us! If he leaves the field early after having no catches, I say, sure, give him a ring!

All kidding aside, if we are blessed enough to win the Superbowl this year, I say, yes, give him a ring. I thought he played well the 4 games we had him for, and presumably, if we win, Deion Branch will be a big reason for that. If we never trade Moss, we never get Branch. If we win, I will be so damn happy, I wouldn't care if they gave Maroney a ring!

Re: If the Pats win the superbowl, will Randy get a ring?

Do you think that he would want one?

Great question. I guess I had assumed so, but you bring up a valid point, he may not.

No he shouldn't get one but neither should Faulk, Kaczur, Bodden or Ty Warren or any other player thats on IR. In fact I don't think anybody who doesn't play in the playoffs should get one.

That's stupid, they shouldn't be penalized for being injured. And faulk has been helping woodhead a lot(from what he said on WEEI).

I say yes from a pity standpoint.. We really had it won in 2007 until a Giant miracle took away our thunder.

Randy's selfish style guarantees that he will never get a ring. Of course he doesn't get one.

Well let's see ...

I need to open up the archive of Star Trek quotes to see if one applies.

Belichick: Moss

Moss: The team ... out of danger?

Belichick: Yes.

Moss: Don't grieve, Coach. It is logical. The needs of the many outweigh...

Belichick: ...the needs of the few...

Moss: ...Or the one. I never took the Kobayashi Maru test until now. What do you think of my solution?

Moss: I have been and always shall be your friend.
[Holds up his hand in the Viking salute]

Moss: Live long and prosper.

Well according to that Randy deserves a ring but I doubt he would accept it.

Should Randy be penalized for being traded? How about Maroney?

An interesting point but they aren't on the team. Hard to give a guy a ring who cried his way out of town. Hopefully the pats get to this situation.

Seriously though guys....Do we really think this is going to happen this season to warrant the answers to this question and argue over it?

Yeah, it's not like the Patriots are a top 3 team in the NFL and have by far the best quarterback out of those 3 teams.

Stop being so damn pessimistic. You act like there's some team in the NFL that is far and away better than the Pats and that they have no chance at all to win a Super Bowl this year which is absolutely ridiculous. Enjoy having one of the greatest coaches and quarterbacks at the same time while you still can and stop acting like we're the Oakland Raiders.

Does he deserve it? I want to say yes. He was on the field for three of the Patriots' four wins. You also can't dismiss the marketability he helped bring to the team, in terms of attracting fans and free agents. Brady and Welker had career best seasons working with him. He was an important player to this franchise for the past four years or so. He deserves at least some consideration if such a situation were to occur.

Would he be offered it? That's anybody's guess. I think if the Vikings beat the Jets and lost to the Pats, it would go a long way in making it more likely. But the Jets won so forget about that. For this it really depends on how much this divorce galvanizes the team for the season, how much it rallies them together. If they are still pissed at Moss and use him as motivation, they may just say forget you. But I don't get the sense that he was disliked in the locker room like a guy like Terrell Owens would be. My guess is he would be offered a ring unless he manages to burn the bridge along the way (he may already have, but I mean worse) by speaking negatively about the Pats, or if the Vikings were to be the Pats' SB opponent.

Would he accept the ring? Randy is a proud man, so my initial response would be no. He was traded away at his request, and he likely wouldn't have felt that he deserves it. It would be bitter for him. But I don't think it's a given. I think despite his contract worries, he loved being a Patriot, and he said all along he wanted to feel appreciated. What better way to show appreciation than to give him a ring that he would have helped playing a hand in, even if only a little? He could possibly accept it as a token of thanks from his former colleagues, and use it as a daily motivation to be on the field to earn a ring on his own.

One thing we can all agree on: hopefully we'll have a chance to find out.

or if the Vikings were to be the Pats' SB opponent.

I guess the ultimate FU would be to offer him a ring in such a case, particularly if Moss played a role in the Patriots win. (E.g. a critical 3rd down drop, fumble that set up a Pats TD, etc)

One thing we can all agree on: hopefully we'll have a chance to find out.

Absolutely.

They won three games with him. He may not have been the most impressive player on the field, but he contributed. Therefore, he gets a ring. Kraft gives out rings to everyone in the organization. Ty Warren, Bret Lockett, Kade Weston, probably even Thomas Clayton gets a ring. The question is ridiculous.
