Hi all,

I'm going to be in Suffolk, England during the week of the opener. Was wondering if any of our British fans could direct me to a good place to watch the game? I'm there for a conference at University of Essex in Colchester, but it's since that's a ways from where I'm staying I'm open to going elsewhere, e.g. London since I'm sure that opens up options. Thanks. If this is an improper place to post feel free to blast it.

My GUESS (n.b.) is that the smartest thing to do would be to find a good internet connection and start a free trial of Game Pass.

The game will be shown on Sky Sports so a local sports bar or even someone you meet whilst in Colchester, along with the above mentioned Game pass would be your best bet.

London will be easier to find a sport bar carrying the game. Sorry for not being too much help and being rather general - hopefully someone from down south sees the thread and can be a bit more specific in regards to what would be a good bar to watch the game with some British Patriots fans.

Now that I am considering the hour the game will likely end, that is probably what I'll end up doing. Still, figured I'd explore my options.

The student bar on campus used to play the games when I was a student there, so that might be possible. Though since it's out-of-term I'll have to inquire.

Since it's on Sky Sports, a thought is this.

It's pretty sure that the Student Union on campus will have Sky Sports. Of course, the game won't be on during normal opening hours, but it might be worth getting in touch with them, to see if they could work something out. Are there going to be other Americans at the conference who'd be up for it? (And don't be embarrassed to offer ... money!)

@Big-T If it's on Sky Sports, does that mean that the live feed for Game Pass will be blacked out?

In the past, the prime time games are still on Gamepass, it's normally the earlier games on Sunday that they choose to air that get blacked out due to Sky.

Definitely mention the #clownout and that you can't miss it. If they ask what in heaven's name is a #clownout, say it's similar to the eclipse of the sun except #clownout has more to with an eclipse of a scatological nature.

It's going to be a tough one - the game kicks off at 1.30am UK time, and finishes at 4.30am.

There won't be anywhere in Colchester open that late, unless you get lucky with a hotel bar willing to keep the TVs overnight. I've looked, and there's a sports bar open until 2.30/3am (Walkabout Colchester), but you'll miss the second half. Where are you actually staying?

Your best bet will be a casino in London, as they're open 24 hours.

I'd suggest:

Hippodrome Casino, Leicester Square - this used to be a popular meeting spot for British NFL fans, it probably still is. Worth keeping an eye on the NFL UK forum nearer the date.

Empire Casino, Leicester Square - huge sports bar inside the casino
