Let's get the ball rolling then!

I've seen a few things with trading Jimmy and Butler.

But in all seriousness as the days go on I have a feeling we will keep Jimmy. In all honesty I'm not the biggest fan of this, but I understand why as Brady would be our single point of failure if he gets injured.

Reason I would want to trade him;
Value in picks. I think the browns and patriots are letting the media do what they want with it and together there not to bothered. With this years draft give me two second rounders and a first next year.

Reason for 1st next year? The quarterback class next year looks very legit in lots of areas. This could be where we find our heir to the lord of Brady!

Weather any of this actually happens I have no idea but if we are going to get rid of him that's what I want. I think there's about 5 top class talent in the draft and anything else could be drafted in a different round! So give me seconds this year and a first next year.

Malcom butler aka "MALCOM GO"

Idea world we keep him and have a very deadly 1-2 cornerback with Rowe! Who I have grown to love!

This in all honesty can't see it happening mainly because I think his agents are being complete bellends. Excuse the language. Not sure why he would turn down the money we offered him for crying out loud I'd bite someone's hand off for a third of that!

The guy is everything we look for within in a patriot! Heart, desire, and the willingness to never give up. Which makes us proud to support this team.

I hope they manage to sort something out with him because if we have him and Gilmore I truly believe this could be one of our best defensive teams we have had.

We have a good front 7 who may not get the sacks like a Mack, miller etc! But they work well as a TEAM! That's the reason we have success is because everyone is willing to sacrifice a little to the big cause of those rings!

We keep butler along with Hightower I think we will be very hard to stop this year. Get a half decent running back and who knows!

Not worried about going 19-0

I want to win the Super Bowl if that's 15-1,14-2 etc as long as we win the one at the end that's all that matters.

Thoughts?

P.s Ray Lewis killed a guy

I would prefer they trade JAG (if they get good value) cause i think Brady will be elite beyond this year and though I like JAG the QB position is one position you don't go down in ability if you can help it.

Rivers/Romo/Ryan/McNabb were good for years and it didn't get their teams over the hump. Flacco/Eli/Wilson simply got hot at the right times or were on stacked teams defensive teams. No accounting for that.

The only way to reliably have a chance to win is for your QB to be consistently great like Brady/Brees/Peyton/Rodgers/Ben generally are/were. That is most 11 of the last 15 super bowls in that group and everyone one at least one. The Good QBs are hit or miss when it comes to if they win or lose.

The drop off is huge between elite and just very good as far as your chances. One thing I will say about our pick @118. I don't want to trade out of the 4th completely. I want to trade it up into the 3rd or down to 130 or so or keep it where it is so we have a 4th.

There is something that happens after round 4 when your odds of picking anyone good (who is not a STer) drops considerably IMO.

Agree, not sure half of the stuff I wrote makes any sense at all. Was getting very passionate all of a sudden and just wish we could keep butler and Hightower. Sounds like butler wants to say. No idea if we could give them both 11.5m for a few years?!

Agree with the drop off, very very rare you find that special game changer after the 4th round.. but we've hit a few over the years!

Everything about JimmyG has already been said, so I won't re-open that can of worms.

Butler would be great to keep, but if a team was willing to give up a 1st for him, you would have to strongly consider it. We do already have two outside corners on our roster, so the need to keep him and pay him like a number 1 isn't quite there anymore.

I just doubt anyone pays that price to bring him in. It's too rich of a cost, between the pick and the contract.

Would you take the first no matter where it was too? Sounded like the saints liked him, from my understanding it would come from the 1st round 11th pick?

If I were running the show, which I'm not thank the lord, I would hold onto Butler and go into the season with one of the strongest defensive backfields in recent history.

The way I look at our roster there are not a lot of glaring holes, so if he's still available I draft CB Sidney Jones at 72. Let him have a redshirt year and hope for the best with regards to returning to 100% or close to it. Let Butler walk next year and then have Gilmore, Rowe and Jones in 2018.

Just my opinion, which is really not worth much.

I could have wrote the same verbatim.

I want Butler here in 2017. I really do. Our secondary would be outrageous.

And like you've said, there just aren't that many glaring holes. FA is still early.

Big Jones fan. Hope he recovers and gets back to top form around 2019.
