It's really hard for a franchise looking for some long-term consistency after the decades of revolving door at HC & QB to start with a 73 year old. Even if he is one of the most energetic 73 year olds ever.

I hated him here when he was fired 25 years ago.
I don't imagine it would be all that different, despite hindsight helping to show he wasn't as bad, results-wise, as I remember. But yeah, happy he had a nice career, but I'm good with Abalone Pete 2.0.

I think head coaches reach a point where they can no longer bring in the best young minds to coach for them, and I think Pete has reached that point.

Age is the problem.

He does seem to be pretty active for his age though.
